deconstructing the male genius they admire because he is representative of the poverty of the American canon after WW1. You shouldn't even touch Hemingway until you've read every word Edith Wharton ever wrote. Even for macho coded literature London is his superior in every way.

I've never read this book but the men in the replies aren't selling it well. There's a reason despite centuries of being marginalized in the field any serious reader of English literature has a bookshelf that's disproportionately female. Men don't care about relationships enough.

The first novel I ever loved was the survival classic Hatchet, but recently I’ve learned that a *lot* of women despise this book, and see it is as something they were forced to read in school to entice the idiot illiterate boys in their English class. I dove into that tension!

There's a reason most fiction written by men and nearly all fiction marketed to men is either about fleshy automatons or pretentious navel gazing. There are some good male writers who don't focus on relationships, but for every Stevenson there's a hundred James Patterson's.

So far I've seen speculation that every prominent figure in the Trump administration is going to resign, including Trump. Vance broke a norm, no Vice President has ever so openly criticized the President like that before, but he's not resigning. And it's dubious anyone else will.
