You were “detained” in Manhattan & didn’t say sh!t:
Brad Lander
@bradlanderOct 21
I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention. For harvesting olives. They should all be released immediately. To be clear: Palestinians face far worse consequences every day. These detentions by the IDF are one more attempt to undermine Palestinians’ right to harvest their olive groves, travel on their roads, and live in their homes. Yet one more element of escalating, and very clearly state-sponsored ethnic cleansing. We’ll update on their status as soon as we hear.

Personally, I don't think that Utah County police, prosecutors, and defense attorneys are participating in a "humiliation ritual" to demoralize Americans into drafting women. It strikes me as rather, shall we say, implausible. And let's be clear: If anybody is trying to demoralize ordinary Americans, it's Tucker. He's the one telling them that they should ignore record deportations, a massive drop in legal immigration, a 40% drop in drug ODs, record low murder rates, massive investment in reshoring manufacturing, stopping trans lunacy cold, and rolling back DEI, all in favor of a monomaniacal and relentlessly negative fixation on Israel. He's the one telling them "Why even vote, it's not real." Personally, I think voting is real. I think 2024's election was very real for the 18-year-old white male who is finally getting the chance to apply for jobs on a fair playing field. It was real for the computer programmer who isn't getting replaced by an H-1B, or for the parent who isn't seeing their public school taken over by illegal immigrants anymore. It mattered for the person who didn't OD on smuggled fentanyl and the person who wasn't shot on the streets of D.C. due to the massive drop in crime. 2024 mattered for our country, and if someone is telling you that it didn't, or that the effect was completely negative, you should ask why they're doing that.
NEW: Tucker Carlson now appears to be going along with that Tyler Robinson is innocent. Pushing that Charlie Kirk's assassination was a “humiliation ritual” designed to demoralise Americans.

Radical activists fly to Israel from all over the world, but especially from Europe, just to harass Jewish farmers in Judea. Jews have been farming in Judea for more than 3,000 years. Watch how they physically harass this Jewish farmer, hoping he will react and then they can edit the footage and upload it on social media. That’s exactly how it works. Please share to show what is really happening in Judea.

We went from “questioning Abdul El-Sayed’s ties to the Muslim Brotherhood is racist” to “actually, the Muslim Brotherhood is quite moderate by Egyptian standards, and Republicans are far worse anyway” remarkably quickly.

I've been reticent to jump into the moral panic about @AbdulElSayed's supposed ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. But I'll say a few things that should be obvious but apparently aren't, as someone who studied the Brotherhood for years and wrote several books about them. First of all, so what if Abdul's mom was involved with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood in the 1970s? What does that have to do with Abdul? You shouldn't be judged for something your parents did or didn't do before you were even born. That's plainly guilt by association. As for the Egyptian Brotherhood itself, it hasn't been involved in political violence since the 1940s/50s and even those incidents can't really be described as terrorism, since they didn't target innocent civilians for political gain. In the decades since, the Brotherhood has repeatedly renounced violence and committed themselves to pursuing their aims through the democratic process. It's little accident that Al-Qaeda's number two, Ayman al-Zawahiri, wrote an entire book condemning the Brotherhood as lackeys and disbelievers, precisely because they had agreed to abide by the rules of the democratic game. Of course, it's totally fine to dislike the Brotherhood and what they stand for. They advocate for the application of Islamic law in politics and for a larger role for Islam in public life more broadly. In short, they're illiberal and we as Americans probably wouldn't want to live under their rule. But I don't see how one could describe them as an "extremist" organization. Their views on Islam — as ample polling makes clear — are fairly mainstream by Egyptian standards. I'm not sure it makes a lot of sense to judge the Brotherhood according to liberal, American standards. Before the Trump administration, successive U.S. administrations engaged directly with Muslim Brotherhood officials and maintained open lines of communication with their leaders, which made sense. They were the largest mass movement and opposition group in Egypt and it would have been foolish to ignore them from the standpoint of U.S. national interests. Even if you hate the Brotherhood, it should also be possible to hold the view that their members and supporters shouldn't be repressed or killed and should have the right to participate in politics and contest democratic elections. Democracy, at its core, is about the right to make the wrong choice. In many ways, MAGA as a movement is more radical than the Brotherhood was in Egypt both before and during the Arab Spring. At the very least, MAGA — like the Brotherhood — is illiberal. And the Republican Party under Trump has a dubious relationship with democracy. After all, a significant number of Republicans, including Trump himself, didn't respect democratic outcomes in 2020 and sought to overturn a legitimate election. The GOP's attempt to demonize the Brotherhood and paint with the guilt-by-association brush is just another way to vilify peaceful law-abiding American Muslims by portraying them as having foreign ties and dual loyalties. It should be rejected as such. The idea that Abdul is some secret Muslim Brotherhood member is absurd on its face. I wish the Republican Party would make up its mind about people like Abdul and Zohran, both of whom take the Democratic Party's line on LGBTQ rights and even trans athletes participation in women's sports. Sure, their faith is important to them and it influences them — but Republicans should welcome the fact that there are prominent Muslim politicians who are normalizing talking about one's faith in public life, especially after criticizing the Democratic Party for being inhospitable to people of faith.

Candace offers another masterclass in manipulation. First, she asks me to give her permission to violate the confidentiality provisions of her separation agreement with Daily Wire, which, of course, I cannot do, since I am no longer with Daily Wire and thus have no authority over how they enforce their sundry agreements with her. Note, too, that she wants my permission to drop only “the document where you listed the reasons for my termination.” Candace, as Candace, has access to all of the agreements she has signed. I, as the former CEO of DW, have access to none of them. So even if I could give such permission — I can't — Candace would be free to selectively release only what suits her and serves her narrative. This is selective disclosure dressed up as a demand for transparency. It's heads I win, tails you lose, as it always is with her manipulations. In the end, I suspect she rather enjoys having an NDA with Daily Wire because it allows her to present herself as being muzzled when, in reality, she violates the terms of every contract she ever signs anyway, but only as far as it benefits her. She disparages Daily Wire and Co. all the time, has openly stated that she is not bound by contracts with people she dislikes, and has openly boasted of providing copies of confidential documents to reporters. Again, it's all just one big manipulation. If it were in Candace's interest to “drop the document,” she would. What stops her? Decency? Fear of lawsuits? Egyptian planes? Certainly nothing in those documents materially changes what is already in the public record. I have not been shy about the reasons I fired Candace. The video of my speech to the DW staff that day leaked long ago. I am not ashamed of having fired her. I'm proud of it. She has spent every day since proving me right. She has devoted herself to slander and lies for fame and money. She relishes trying to ruin the lives of others. She is one of the worst actors in public life, and one of the worst people I have ever known. She is not only a liar, but a serial liar. The mistress of lies. I don't defend myself against most of her lies because to repeat them, even for the purpose of correcting them, only gives them greater reach and credibility with her audience. But back to her tactics in this particular message, which are important to understand. “I grow tired of your psychotic fixation with my life” is hilarious, but effective. Hilarious because, of course, Candace is currently making millions of dollars a month off her psychotic fixation with Erika Kirk, TPUSA, and The Jews™. I know I grow tired of that. I guess we'll both just have to resign ourselves to our disappointment. It's effective, though, because it poisons the well. By characterizing my attention to her statements as a “psychotic fixation,” she establishes a frame through which her audience will interpret anything I say in response. My attempts to defend myself become further evidence of my supposed obsession. She is very good at what she does, and what she does is leading so many people down the road to hell… “I have nothing to hide. Do you?” A great closing couplet because it uses a big lie — Candace certainly has plenty to hide — to give power to a tacit accusation. DO YOU? It's a textbook loaded question, but also something of a Kafka trap: the failure to comply with her demand becomes evidence of the very guilt she is insinuating. Obviously if I don’t do the thing she demanded, which she doesn’t even want and which she knows I have no legal authority to do, that means YES! Truly, she's an artist. This is why I say she is better at lying than most people are at discerning truth.
Hey Jeremy, since you are now accusing me of lying and/or having brainwashed my audience regarding the reasons I was fired from the Daily Wire— why don’t you simply grant me permission, publicly, to drop the document where you listed the reasons for my termination. It’s been 3 years. I grow tired of your psychotic fixation with my life. Let’s simply drop the document and let the public see for themselves? I have nothing to hide. Do you?

While the markets favor Democrats to win both Senate (65%) and House (90%), people who correctly predicted Trump to win in 2024 are very bullish on Republicans this cycle. Is this the Trump effect, or is it structural?

Thank you for having me @CBSLosAngeles to speak about prediction market hedging! Many speculate (or "bet", as you call it) on prediction markets, just like they do on any derivatives market. But the exchange structure harnesses that speculation for price discovery and enables risk management for individuals and businesses, big or small. Over time, prediction markets will let people manage exposure to most things outside of our control. We're in the early innings of that. Incredibly excited to be part of building that future.

Many jihadist propaganda accounts are amplified by bots & foreign accounts. Mario is one of them. Fuentes is another: when he ranted about me earlier, a friend showed me about a third of the hateful comments/attacks were from bots. These accounts’ reach should be turned down.
I always knew that Mario Nawfal was botted. But even I underestimated the scale. A new study from @CombatASemitism found that a whopping 40.5% of accounts amplifying his content are bots and fake profiles

For bars near Dodger Stadium, a World Series run would have meant a huge boost in business. When the Dodgers came up short, this group’s Kalshi position helped cover the revenue those games would have brought in. Businesses of every size are discovering that federally regulated prediction markets offer a practical, transparent way to manage risk and protect their bottom line.
