What goes into becoming an Olympic medalist? Peter Paltchik @peter_paltchik shared a little of that journey with Chicagoโ€™s youth. ๐Ÿฅ‹๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ… At Sunshine Gospel Ministries @sgm_sunshine on Chicagoโ€™s South Side, Peter shared his story and introduced the kids to the sport that has shaped his life. They joined in on training exercises, practiced judo techniques, and got an up-close look at his Olympic medal. Throughout the afternoon, Peter spoke about overcoming challenges and the discipline and perseverance it took to reach the Olympic stage. Thank you to the Sunshine Gospel Ministries team for bringing us together and for the work you do every day to support local children and families.

The UNโ€™s Betrayal - Me Too, unless you're a Jew. When it comes to Israeli women, the UN is betraying its mandate. โ€‹Allow me to translate a post by Yael Sherer, the the Director of the Israeli Lobby for Victims of Sexual Violence on October 7th. Following October 7th massacre and crimes, Yael was exposed through her role to the atrocious sex crimes committed by Palestinian terrorists that day. โ€‹I had the honor of hosting Yael in Oslo during my time as Ambassador there, accompanying her to meetings where she recounted those horrific, chilling crimes. โ€‹The UN has betrayed Israeli women. โ€‹The UN has betrayed its mission. โ€‹The UN has betrayed the very values it is supposed to represent. Here is the translation of her post: "The UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women is furious about a Telegraph article documenting her negligence regarding the rape and sexual violence committed on October 7th and subsequently by terrorist organizations. Yet, she fails to explain why she omitted all these reports from her own reports, claimed there was no verified evidence of rape despite the findings of the UN commission of inquiry, and insisted she was willing to meet and hear from victims and female representatives. I havenโ€™t seen such a blatant lie in a long time. When I myself was in Geneva, Reem Alsalem flatly refused to meet with me, she has never answered my emails to this day, and she didnโ€™t bother to show up at an event on sexual violence and its health impacts because the keynote speaker (myself) was Israeli. So, for the record, she is lying."

Tonight in Chicago, I joined BBYOโ€™s Board of Directors and teen leaders for a conversation about young Jewish people, Israel, and the ties that connect us. @BBYOInsider brings Jewish teens together from around the world, giving them a community and opportunities to lead. I saw that spirit tonight: pride in being Jewish, a strong connection to Israel, and a determination to strengthen the friendship between our two countries. They asked thoughtful questions and spoke openly about what matters to them. The future of the U.S.โ€“Israel relationship depends on young people who understand why it matters and are ready to carry it forward. I met some of them tonight. These young leaders are already helping shape the future of our communities. Thank you, BBYO, for bringing us together tonight. Seeing their commitment and leadership, I left feeling more optimistic about the future. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Great to join the Michigan Israel Business Accelerator (MIBA) in Detroit last week for the launch of the U.S.-Israel Innovation Exchange (USIIE)! While states and regions naturally compete for investment and business opportunities, they also recognize that working together makes everyone stronger. This new national network will connect organizations across the U.S., share resources and expertise, and create more opportunities for Israeli innovation and American businesses. Especially now, strengthening our economic ties and demonstrating the value of U.S.-Israel cooperation matters more than ever. Proud that @IsraelinChicago has been a partner in this initiative from the very beginning. Thank you to MIBA, Mark Davidoff, Howard Handler, Gary Torgow, Huntington Bank, and all the partners who made this possible. This is just the beginning! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The Intifada is being globalized โ€” and it is striking at the heart of those very countries whose leaders appeased Hamas, the Islamists and Palestinian extremists.
Tonight, France burned. America, you should be watching very carefully. Today, October 17, 2026, more than half a million people marched across France against the cost of living. By 8pm, around 400 had been arrested. In Paris, police turned water cannons on the crowds at Place de la Rรฉpublique, and one march was stopped 150 meters from the ร‰lysรฉe Palace. Of the 195 people arrested in the capital by the afternoon, only one actually lived in Paris. Mobs forced their way into the city halls of Marseille and Lille. In Lyon, a tourism office was set on fire. In Rennes, barricades burned. Near Limoges, a highway was blocked and police cars were torched. And then came Limoges. A crowd of very young people stormed the city hall, a protected historic monument built in the 1880s. They flipped police cars in front of it and set them ablaze, then set the building itself on fire. The flames took the roof, the wedding hall, and the civil registry, the office that records every birth, every marriage, every death in the city. Tonight, the bell tower that has crowned Limoges for nearly 150 years collapsed. The mayor's response: "It's a monument that is burning, not the Republic." That is the problem in one sentence. Our leaders still think words can put out fires. None of this came out of nowhere. For twenty years, the French political class has excused everything. Every riot was "anger." Every burned car was a "social symptom." Every attack on police was "a reaction to provocation." And the hard left, La France Insoumise, which officially backed today's mobilization, built its electoral machine on an alliance with political Islamism: refusing to condemn, refusing to name, trading secularism and public order for votes. In France we have a word for it. Islamo-gauchisme. Islamo-leftism. Tonight you saw where that culture of excuse ends. A country where a mob can burn down a town hall, and the state arrives after the roof has already fallen in. My dear American friends, I say this with love, as someone who has lived among you and owes you a great deal: your midterms are on November 3rd. And the same alliance is growing inside your Democratic Party. The same far-left wing that treats disorder as protest and police as the enemy. The same activists who refuse to draw a line between legitimate dissent and those who openly despise the West. The same politicians who think tolerance means tolerating everything, including the people who want to burn it down. It always starts with excuses. Then comes impunity. Then come the flames. Same causes, same effects. If you create the conditions we created, you will get exactly what we got tonight. France was the country of the Enlightenment, of cathedrals and town halls that stood for centuries. Tonight, one of them collapsed live on social media while the government called for calm. My dear American friends, the only advantage you have over us is that you've been warned. Vote like your city hall depends on it. Because one day, it will.

I just called Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was brutally attacked by violent rioters on Friday. As President of the State of Israel, I strongly condemn this outrageous and shocking violence, both the terrible attack on Heidi and other grave incidents of violence, such as what took place today in Taybeh. I expressed my deepest sorrow to Heidi and apologized for what she went through. The despicable behavior of the perpetrators of this attack does not represent the citizens or the values of the State of Israel. Israel is a democratic state governed by the rule of law, and it must act with full force against every form of violence. Each incident is being thoroughly investigated, and we await the findings. All government, security, and law enforcement authorities must use every means at their disposal to investigate thoroughly, apprehend these lawbreakers, and bring them to justice with the fullest extent of the law. On behalf of the entire nation, I wish Heidi good health and a speedy recovery.
