A CALL FOR A SPECIAL YULETIDE WELFARE PACKAGE FOR OUR SENTINELS. As we approach this Yuletide season, I wish to respectfully appeal to all good people to consider a Special Welfare package for our gallant Sentinels at the Frontline. While many families will be celebrating Christmas and the New Year in the comfort of their homes, some of our men and women in uniform will remain on duty, away from their loved ones, making sacrifices to protect our Nation and preserve our collective peace. These brave men and women deserve more than words of appreciation. They deserve tangible gestures of care, recognition and encouragement. A special Yuletide welfare package, which could include financial support, food items and other essential provisions would go a long way in boosting morale and reminding our troops that their sacrifices are recognised and valued. Welfare is not a privilege, it is an essential part of troop morale, motivation and operational effectiveness. Let us remember that behind every uniform is a human being, a family and a loved one who also deserves happiness during the festive season. Our soldiers stand for the Nation always, this Yuletide let us all stand for them by letting our gallant soldiers feel the impact of our appreciation beyond ceremonial speeches. FOR CONTRIBUTION TOWARD THE PROJECT KINDLY DM. NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL OR BIG FOR US!! 🙏🏿👏🏿 #Sentinel #ThankASoldier

I had the privilege of designing the website of the incoming Lagos State Governor, @funsodoherty. funsodoherty.org This website details his background, his plan for Lagos as governor, 34 commitments to hold his government accountable to, amongst others. The APC's reign in Lagos will soon come to an end. Democracy is not monarchy. Ó ti yá!

Because if you put your marriage up for public to judge, you begin to "perform" for the camera. The bubble will surely burst It's not sustainable
Almost all the Christian couples I use to watch their YouTube channels 5/6 years ago are either divorced or separated now. Omo, marriage is not easy!! It is well.

This is how someone who is absolutely passionate about his nation, and the people of his nation get when talking about sensitive matters of absolute concern. But when @ruffydfire stands up to the useless mugs who rule our country, you stupid people come out and say he interrupts and this and that. And that unfortunate Oshiomole will talk about some stupid international best practices. How about some international best practices with governance. Providing basic amenities to every Nigerian! Oh God you’re lucky he’s not cussing at your households on live TV
This young lad handled himself well against these pathetic geezers who sold out their country and have no standing to lecture anyone on duty or morality.

If 12 million slaves left Africa, it means black African slave traders made a huge business capturing and selling off 12 million of their kins to their white business counterparts. I think the ease with which we solely focus on the West on matters of slavery is because they have built nations out of all kinds of transaction they made with the outside world, which isn’t a crime because we happen to all envy their states. It is bad/good that we see it as a divine intervention when one of us “finally” lands a US visa, for instance. This is obvious in NOT just the testimony given in church on Sunday, but the “Hallelujah” chant that follows from the congregation. To ponder 🤔: - what stopped the African slave trader from using the African slaves he captured for commercial agriculture on our fertile soil? - what stopped the black African from building ships and daring into other continents as well? - if the West, lacking the resources that are naturally abundant on the African soil, have devised ways of exploiting our resources to build states that attracts everyone from elsewhere, why are Africa, naturally abundant with the human and mineral resources lagging behind. There was an evil trade in the souls of men. One group (slave consumer) saw an opportunity in sailing the “merchandise” across the Great Pond to build nations. The other group (slave supplier) was contented with exchanging millions of its kins for Dane guns, wine, metal spoons and stools. Assuming we all are descendants of those merchants, on what ground does one group demand compensation from the other? Other countries - China, Japan, India - have had very long painful histories with the Western world, but have moved on to develop in their way and are currently competing on the international stage. There has to come a time when we look forward to what we can do as Black Africa. That time was yesterday. We are already behind schedule⏰
Kemi, congratulations on leading a major British party as a Black Woman. It takes real talent to rise to where you are and deceit is what it takes to rise as a Black leader in a western Conservative Party. It is a pity the climb did not leave room for a history book and since you chose to argue in the language of history, let us do the history. Let’s dissect your verbal diarrhea point by point. Everyone participated." Slavery existed on every continent. So did war, and nobody calls a village feud the World War. The transatlantic trade ran for 366 years (1501 to 1866) and put about 12.5 million Africans on ships, of whom about 1.8 million died before they saw the Americas, according to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database. It ran through joint-stock companies, chartered monopolies, Lloyd's underwriters and acts of Parliament. It was hereditary, because the law made the child of an enslaved mother property from birth. It was racial, because a whole continent was defined as chattel. No other system in history combined those features at that scale. Dissolving all of it into "people from every continent" is far worse than intellectual dishonesty. Britain was a market leader, not a participant. British ships carried about 3.2 million Africans, second only to Portugal and Brazil. The Treaty of Utrecht (1713) gave Britain the asiento, a thirty-year monopoly to supply 4,800 enslaved Africans a year to Spanish America. The Royal African Company, chartered in 1672 and headed by the Duke of York, later James II, branded its captives "DY". During Edward Colston's years in its leadership it shipped about 84,000 people, and roughly 19,000 died on the way. You say British taxpayers should not answer for what happened before they were born. They did. In 1833 Britain borrowed £20 million to compensate slaveholders, and taxpayers serviced that loan until 2015, including the descendants of the enslaved. So the principle you invoke was not applied when the cheque went to slaveholders. It only appears when the cheque changes direction. "Navel-gazing" is a curious charge from someone whose party spends more energy on the past (Empire nostalgia, culture war crusades) than most of those you accuse. Defend Britain if you must. But do not use your Nigerian name as the permission slip for arguments Nigerians know better than anyone.

Happy New Month Everyone 🤍🫱🏿‍🫲🏾, Another November is upon us again, I think our Sentinels 🪖 have been doing a good job upfront and should be supported/appreciated this Yuletide season. Should we embark on the Yuletide Welfare Package as we did last year again?? Kindly comments or drop suggestions, so we take a decision 👏🏿 #Sentinel #ThankASoldier

Nobody ever seems to demand Arab nations to apologise or give reparations for their slave trade, which was even larger, longer, and brutal than the transatlantic slave trade.

hmmm and you’re not wearing a hijab
😰Muslims celebrating Halloween is baffling to me. Since when did “it’s just candy & costumes” become a good enough excuse to participate in a holiday with religious origins outside of Islam? We have our own beautiful holidays, so why are we so eager to adopt everyone else’s?

you’re very right
Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.
