NairaRails is my submission for the NEAR hackathon, Real-World Money track. Ada freelances in Yaba and gets paid in USDC. Her prepaid meter is about to run out. To buy electricity today, she has to find a P2P merchant, sell her USDC at whatever rate they offer, wait for the naira to land in her bank account, then open a VTU app to buy the token. Every step adds a spread, a delay, and someone she has to trust. NairaRails replaces that with one action. She picks the bill, enters a naira amount, and signs a single NEAR Intent from her wallet. Solvers compete on the naira rate and the best quote wins. Settlement is atomic, so the payment completes or the funds are refunded. It covers electricity (IKEDC), airtime, and DStv, all paid straight from USDC. Stablecoins already hold value for people earning across borders. What's missing is spending them on everyday bills. NEAR Intents closes that gap by moving price discovery to solvers competing for the trade, instead of leaving it to whichever stranger a user happens to find. Sending crypto to someone who doesn’t use crypto is still hard. I mean it's a lot of knowledge and technicalities on both sides You need their wallet address. They need to understand Blockchain networks to send the right address. Sometimes they don’t even have a wallet yet. By the time they figure it out, the gift moment is already gone.
