Totally embarassing from Rooney to call out Rashford for not ‘playing through the pain’.
Does he not recall Rashford putting his own back on the line for almost 2 years straight for us? Oh you didn’t care then did you?
Are players not allowed to be injured now? Or is it banned?
🔥 Wayne Rooney TEARS into Manchester United players: “NOT FIT TO WEAR THE SHIRT!”
This is as critical as I’ve ever seen Rooney about his former club. He’s raging, and rightly so. Michael Carrick is a Manchester United legend and a close friend of Rooney’s, so this one clearly hits a little harder than usual.
On Stick to United with @markgoldbridge, he went straight for the players who love the spotlight when things are good but disappear the second it gets tough, like Bruno, Martinez, Rashford and the rest:
“Where’s Rashford now? Things get tough, where’s Rashford? You need to play through the pain barrier. You need to be ready, to give everything for the club, and they’re not doing that.”
He didn’t stop there. After that abysmal performance against Bournemouth, Rooney said he was pleased when the fans stopped clapping Carrick off and turned their fury on the players:
“I was really pleased when they switched from clapping Michael off the pitch, and then they’ve turned on them players. They’re not fit to wear that shirt at the minute. I don’t think they ever will be. The least you can do is work and show that it means something and that you care.”
Rooney said the five-year-olds he coaches understand something these multi-millionaires don’t: You run. You chase. You fight for every ball. This squad can’t even manage the basics!
Rooney finished by expressing frustration that the same players are doing it again to another manager, and will almost certainly get away with it:
“Honestly, watching it’s just so annoying and frustrating and disappointing that these players are gonna get away with it again.”
Ruthless from Rooney. He is speaking for the fans here. They know Carrick hasn’t been good enough, but he’s a club legend who cares deeply about Manchester United and is giving his all.
The players have given up. They don’t even run, and that is unforgivable! The fans will back you no matter what if you give your best, but they will never accept what these players are doing.
Right now these players are a disgrace to the shirt, to the badge, and to everything Manchester United is supposed to stand for.

Hirst is an INEOS mouthpiece by the way, looks like Nagelsmann may have overtaken Howe.

One of #mufc's biggest problems this season is they are ill-prepared for, and can't cope with, a heavier workload. Newcastle sunk from fourth to seventh and from fifth to 12th under Howe in seasons they were in Europe. Wonder if Ineos are aware of that 🤷♂️

Mason Mount is up there with as bad a signing as Antony and Sancho etc… 50 million, 1 year left on his contract, off the back of a terrible season at Chelsea and handed the number 7 shirt. Never been fit and been bang average when so. If he gets the captaincy it’s a joke

**THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE SALOON**
Our club have acted from day one as though the new stadium is already a done deal.
Surveys built around theoretical scenarios, diluting the voices of the very people who fill Old Trafford and have devoted their lives to this club.
There is a rot, a decay, a sense of hopelessness all due to the Glazers and Ratcliffe. They have sucked the life and dignity out of our club.
**Make no mistake. We are at a crossroads**
Act now or wave goodbye to the Manchester United you once knew.
Over the coming weeks, we will lay out clear plans. Plans that demand **ACTION**
And those actions will be down to **YOU, the fanbase.**
Not The 1958. Not another supporters' group. Not somebody else.
**YOU**
You might not like us. You might think we should smash the place up or somehow empty a 75,000 seat stadium.
We don't care what you think of us. It's all irrelevant.
This is bigger than The 1958. Bigger than egos, personalities and petty differences.
**Get behind the action or STFU when the club tramples all over you.**
Stop waiting for somebody else to fight your battles.
Because if we sit back and everything we've warned about becomes reality, don't start complaining that nobody did anything.
**You were warned. You had a choice.**
The plans will be crystal clear. The actions will be crystal clear.
The question is whether enough Reds give a shit to follow through.
**More to follow. Get your notifications on.**

A traumatic, torrential afternoon at Old Trafford. It rained + poured.
All immediate focus on Michael Carrick, whose #MUFC team are in 16th, one point above relegation zone. A display devoid of purpose, littered with mistakes.
The lens of scrutiny should be far wider of course.

Ashley Young accused Martinez of faking injury last week and now saying this… ticking all the boxes for the ex-United pundit
🚨🎙️ | Ashley Young reacts to Bruno Fernandes arriving at Old Trafford with his hood up:
"Okay, you've been dropped as a player. It happens to players. I've been there. But you want to see a REACTION.
"He's got his hood up, he's walking in, he's telling the fans that he's still upset. But that's NOT the reaction you want from a captain of #mufc.
"You want to see him, 'okay, right, I've been dropped. I know what I've done wrong. I'm going to walk in, and when I get the opportunity to come on the pitch, I'm going to show what I'm actually about.
"'Okay, my comments in the week were said and directed to Michael Carrick, but I don't want to show everyone else. What I've said is already out there. Now I need to show what I'm about, personality...'
"Showing THAT [his hood being up] when he walks in, that's not what you want to see…" [Sky]
