Presidents certainly have the right to pick their Chiefs of Staff, but selecting Stephen Miller shows that Donald Trump has learned nothing from the message Americans sent him in this election. Miller is the architect of some of the worst policies of this presidency, from the cruel and chaotic ICE enforcement to the tariffs jacking up your costs. Promoting him isn’t only bad for this Administration, it’s bad for the American people.

I spent two years working with Stephen Miller. His appointment as White House chief of staff is among the most dangerous personnel decisions in the history of our republic. I say that without reservation.

Pardon me, Jared, but none of this is any of your fucking business. You are not a government employee. You were not elected, approved by Congress, or otherwise authorized to do anything. You are a nepobaby mafia lieutenant, and you should die in prison.
President Trump today advanced an important discussion with several European leaders about the need for a broader European security architecture that can help establish the conditions for lasting peace. Building on his leadership and the substantive work undertaken this week in Brussels with Ukraine, NATO, and our European partners, @SEPeaceMissions and I wanted to share some of the objectives guiding our ongoing discussions. For more than 30 years, Europe and Russia have struggled to establish a sustainable security framework. Decades of mistrust, competing security concerns, and the devastating consequences of this war make this an extraordinarily difficult challenge, but one that is essential to lasting peace. Our objective is to develop practical arrangements that address the security concerns of all sides, reduce the risk of future conflict, and create a more stable and predictable security environment. We are exploring five principal goals: permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communications, greater military transparency, reciprocal measures to reduce escalation risks, and an enduring framework for long-term European security and stability. Any arrangements must fully respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independent decision-making of every nation. Each country will retain authority over its own security and alliances, and no country would have a veto over another’s sovereign choices. NATO will remain central to European collective defense, and this initiative would build upon existing institutions and commitments. We will continue consultations through the Shell Bay format with Ukraine, NATO, the EU, and our European partners, expanding engagement to ensure that all relevant perspectives and ideas are considered. We will also engage Russia as part of the peace negotiations. Next week in Abu Dhabi, the United States will convene the first trilateral peace discussions with Ukraine and Russia since February. All parties remain intensely engaged in preparing for substantive and productive negotiations. We will consult closely with our European partners on the sidelines and, if progress is made, aim to move toward a broader multilateral format with their direct participation. These ideas continue to evolve, and we welcome thoughtful input. Creating the right structure will be critical to ending this war and transitioning from conflict toward conditions that make possible a durable peace. This is difficult, detailed work. There are no easy solutions. But the opportunity to help end this devastating war and build a foundation for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous Europe for generations to come makes it a challenge well worth undertaking. We will see how these discussions develop and continue working intensively with all parties toward President Trump’s objective of a comprehensive and lasting peace.

I'm less impressed by how @ossoff speaks (though he's terrific at that too) and more impressed by what he says. This 2-minute clip is the best explanation of Trump corruption that I've ever heard. His explanation of the Russian dirty deals is so accurate and so clear. He knows the facts cold. And he explains them better than I can.
He has that Obama elocution.

Just to clarify. This guy was not a "senior officer" in the RAF. Wing Commander is middle management. The equivalent of an SEO in the civil service . Reform's desperation on full display.

Yesterday I hosted a coffee morning at my Office for the RBL, we raised lots of money and I was delighted to be joined by so many veterans, including my friends Debbie & Trevor. I will be attending many Remembrance services across Lagan Valley until Wednesday in my role as Member of Parliament, particularly looking forward to our wonderful Festival of Remembrance tonight in Lisburn.

This is Jon Ossoff. He was just reelected as Senator of Georgia. 💙 He is also a future President of the United States. If you’re not convinced, just listen to him handle business. Ossoff does NOT fuck around.

WOW. CNN’s Nicole Wallace completely fire bombs Pete Hegseth from space: WALLACE: “Pete Hegseth may be the most glaring human encapsulation of everything the American people rejected on Tuesday. Incompetent, insecure, vindictive, vain, and wholly enamored with his authority to wage an unpopular war in Iran that has driven up the price of gas, fertilizer, diesel and groceries.”

Not true. Hegseth gets his clothes from a company called Book a Tailor, which he confirmed in a Fox News segment. I suspect he got his clothes for free in exchange for this mention on Fox News. The company owner confirmed in an interview that their suits are made in Thailand. In the time he since promoted this company, three US suit factories have faced closure. Instead of promoting US-made clothing, Hegseth promoted cheap imports that undercut US manufacturers. You only think they're made in the US because the clothes are plastered with US flags. This is because you are more easily impressed by spectacle than substance, which is why this administration is so exciting for you.

Watching Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, speak from a White House podium bearing the U.S. presidential seal while quoting Vladimir Putin is an image I will never forget. Dmitriev praised Maria Lvova-Belova as a great humanitarian. She is wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes involving the unlawful deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children. He then presented Melania Trump with a painting reportedly made by a girl who, according to him, “chose to remain in Russia.” It read: “I love Melania.” Melania Trump went on to praise Newsmax for its integrity in covering the operation in Russian-occupied Oleshky, where the outlet’s journalists traveled under Russian military guidance. And to complete the scene, Davyd Arakhamia, head of Zelenskyy’s Servant of the People parliamentary faction, joined from the Ukrainian side to praise Melania Trump. All of this at the White House. Russia’s war against Ukraine continues.

I’ve known many other defense secretaries, starting with Cap Weinberger, who served as defense secretary under Reagan. I can say without fear of contradiction that Pete Hegseth is the stupidest and least qualified of them all. He is a danger to the entire world. He must be impeached.

Elon Musk has a warning for Democrats: if they investigate him after the midterm elections, he intends to retaliate. His message is simple: those who come after him should expect consequences. Musk has also threatened to pursue the people he believes are really behind such investigations, not just the politicians involved. But here's a question. Why should a billionaire whose companies receive billions of dollars in federal contracts consider congressional oversight a threat? If Musk's activities at DOGE, his business dealings, and his companies' government contracts are entirely legal and transparent, answering congressional questions should not be a problem. SpaceX and other Musk-linked businesses have extensive financial relationships with the federal government. Taxpayers have every right to know whether those relationships involve conflicts of interest, preferential treatment, or improper influence. Congressional oversight is not political persecution. It is a fundamental part of American democracy. If investigations uncover serious violations, the government should examine whether existing contracts should continue, subject to applicable law. And threatening retaliation against investigators raises questions of its own. No billionaire is above the law. No government contractor is entitled to immunity from scrutiny. And no amount of money should buy protection from congressional accountability. Government contracts are paid for by the American people. They are not a personal shield against the American people. To set the scene: Kirill Dmitriev thanks the U.S. President’s wife for having “saved so many lives” and presents her with a picture signed by children: “We love you, Melania.” And yet, no one—absolutely no one, truly no one—thinks to ask the guy: “Tell me, Kiryusha, could you perhaps explain how these people and these children ended up in danger in the first place? Because of whom, Kiryusha, did they have to hide in cellars to escape the bombing, go hungry, lose their loved ones, and perish themselves? Aren’t you even the least bit ashamed to look people in the eye, you repulsive, slippery character with no chin?” It is time that this filth from Russia is no longer allowed into the White House, nor into the USA.

🚨 LISTEN to @BBCSteveR The Russian press confirm that Moscow’s greatest weapon is Donald Trump. Russian newspapers frame Trump’s midterm humiliation as a “total defeat” and identify the time before 3 January as Moscow’s final window. The Kremlin fears a Democratic Congress will restore military support for Ukraine, rebuild transatlantic unity and impose tougher sanctions. Trump is now Putin’s closing window of opportunity. Europe must act now to stop a repudiated American president forcing Ukraine to surrender to the invader.
After the US midterms, one Russian paper this morning: “The main reason for the Republicans’ failure is clear – and its name is Trump.” Another: “Most voters are tired of Trump’s political shows…tired of being deceived, tired of being told ‘sugar’, but it doesn’t taste any sweeter.’ #ReadingRussia
