Right wingers are the biggest pussies on the planet. Obama was bombing the Middle East to oblivion and the most anti-war Dems stood behind him. They know how to wield power. We are idealistic crybabies who jump ship over the first disagreement. We deserve this shit.

The GOP is going to get a look in the weeks and months ahead at just how ruthless the new Dem majorities in Congress are going to be in trying to press their sudden advantage that is greater than they expected. The GOP should take notes and learn some lessons from what they are about to experience being in the "last" end of the whip while the Dems have the handle. Politics is no longer a "polite" business and the GOP has take too long to adapt to the fact that the "gentlemanly" way of engaging with "colleagues" from the other party is long outdated.

Agree -- a couple of weeks ago I popped off by saying Trump should have DOD build six refineries on military bases strategically located around the country. If states like Calif are going to use state regulations to squeeze refineries into closing then put the sector beyond the reach of those states. Build them in places where states don't get a vote.
Replying to @shipwreckedcrew
Better start by building lots more refineries then.

Exactly 😂 Tesla has no government contracts and President Trump ended federal incentives for electric vehicles. SpaceX contracts with the government are BOTH the best product AND the lowest price! Moreover government revenue will be less than 10% of SpaceX revenue this quarter and less then 5% a year from now. Happy to cancel any that the government doesn’t want. Just say the word!
Elon please send this January 1: Dear Senate & House Democrats, Many of you criticize my companies receiving federal contracts. I hereby offer to cancel. Please publish a list of each contract to cancel with any required agency consent, and we will cancel promptly. Sincerely, Elon Musk

Who is “we”? You are a Democrat
DeSantis is not the GOP savior. We squandered the Latino vote with overly aggressive immigration enforcement tactics. The guy who oversaw Alligator Alcatraz is not the answer.

Love it!
Governor @RonDeSantis nukes the awful @VivekGRamaswamy: “Ohio Governor! How bad did they beat Vivek? Like a drum! Now, part of that was Vivek, quite frankly. I don't know why they would have pushed him to be the candidate there… Ohio is a working-class state, very blue-collar. Vivek, he's a tech guy, did this fake Alzheimer's drug, and he wants to bring in people, foreign workers on visas.”
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video does not contain the word “fake.” In the Sage Steele interview, Ron DeSantis says Vivek Ramaswamy “did this Alzheimer’s drug,” not “fake Alzheimer’s drug.” The caption misquotes the clip. Source: Full interview on The Sage Steele Show – youtube.com/watch?v=Q4lxra…

One way to get rural Georgians voting in a midterm like its a presidential year....piss off the farmers and Ag business community that make it the number 1 industry in that state.
Georgia's new Agriculture Secretary plans to direct state funds to black farmers for being black. Buckle up, Georgia. DEI is coming.

All you need to know about John Thune is that he’s the first Senate Majority Leader in American history to block a president from his own party from making recess appointments. Speaker Johnson should not have fallen on his sword. This guy should.
Over the last two years, Senate Republicans have put up a strong record of accomplishment that’s created safer streets, more money in Americans’ pockets, and new opportunities for families and businesses to get ahead. After fighting Democrat obstruction at every turn, we prevented the largest tax hike in American history, secured our border in an unprecedented way, confirmed the president’s Cabinet at the fastest pace in two decades, and put strong conservative judges on benches across the country faster than we have since the Reagan administration. I’m proud of our team and everything we’ve done for the American people, and I’m looking forward to the important work we have in front of us over the next few months. As we head into 2027, Senate Republicans will not stand idly by as the far-left, socialist wing of the Democrat Party attempts to unwind everything we’ve done. Thankfully, we still have President Trump in the White House, and we’ll work with him to stop the worst impulses of Democrat extremism. We cannot let their fringe positions become the mainstream.

Mr. Vice-President, Please allow me to present a different perspective. The problem was not the Iran War. It was the cease fire. If you start a war, you need to win it and finish it – otherwise don’t start it. This war should have been over six months ago, with the Strait of Hormuz wide open and oil flowing. The second and third tiers of Iranian leadership should have been destroyed, and we should have supported the pro-western forces who could have taken leadership. We stood on the brink of a new, more peaceful Middle East - and then we blinked. We had a chance not only to deny Iran nuclear weapons, but to get rid of the world’s biggest supporter of terrorism. Instead, we had a cease fire, which was followed by months of will we or won’t we finish the job. Every day was a different message. There still is. Is the war over? Is it about to begin? No one knows. There is confusion and inconsistency. In June 2025, America was not involved. This was an Israel vs Iran issue. No one forced the United States to attack Iran then, or in February of 2026. It was a decision made by President Trump. In my opinion, it was the right decision. Once the decision was made, we should not have stopped until the regime fell. But instead, you negotiated a cease fire that didn’t last, didn’t work and left us in no man’s land, with higher prices and our troops still deployed. Our troops could have been home, the Navy returned to its bases, a peaceful regime in place , new alliances forged, and gas prices below $3.00 a gallon. No, Mr. Vice President. It’s not the war. It’s the so-called cease fire.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

While true, the real damage will be done in the states that completely flipped tonight. Texas and Georgia have been importing the very voters for over a decade + that would put the GOP back in the minority in those states. I can see Texas undoing it quickly in 2030 because there are still plenty of GOP voters who flipped or just stayed home. Texas Dems will overreach there. In GA, I do fear that importing Hollywood for over a decade, bringing in businesses and their workers from the NE and upper midwest will produce much longer term damage. GOP needs new leadership from top to bottom. The post-Trump era is starting today.
2024 was awesome. Tonight mostly sucked except for Florida and Tennessee. Reality is nothing will get passed by Congress for two years and the 2028 presidential election starts tomorrow.

This should also show that returning to any form of pre-2016 GOP should be a non-starter. The results in Texas and Georgia today started with them and long before Trump came down that escalator.

Some final thoughts about tonight. 1. The GOP didn’t lose because of Iran or not passing the SAVE Act. They lost because they lost the laser focus on affordability. 2. Even as Dems won big in NC, the referendums on property tax cut and voter ID overwhelmingly passed. 3. While FL stayed red, it was close. BUT our state voted overwhelmingly to eliminate property taxes on homestead properties. 4. Immigration is not a losing issue, but immigrants you won previously will turn against you if you make it more expensive to live. 5. Redistricting backfired for now. But could be a positive in 2028 if things turn around. 6. Turns out if you hand visas and US college enrollment out to 3rd worlders like candy on Halloween, don’t look stunned when the voters you screwed over stay home. Time to end these visa and university programs. 7. Like a broken clock, polling and forecasting actually were correct this cycle. 8. The old Reagan/Bush GOP is dead, but so is the Trump era. Focus will be on the next guy and new leaders must emerge. 9. States that swept in Dem statewide office holders still have GOP-controlled legislatures. Time to use the affordability crisis against these new Dems when they assume office. 10. Hard lessons are about to be learned for not voting, even when you don’t like the choices. You don’t get to complain when the shit show starts in January. 11. Affordability and pro-American agenda will win out moving forward. Focus on those and you will win.

Assuming Republicans lose the seats where prediction markets have the Democrats at 90+% to win, that would produce 55 Democrat Senate seats. Chance of confirming a worthy successor to Justice Thomas and/or Alito during President Trump’s term: Zero. Chance of confirming a worthy successor during a hypothetical GOP admin 2029-2033: probably zero (GOP won’t be able to recapture enough seats in 28).

Very simple for the outcomes you are seeing tonight…voters are done with the Trump era and are ready to move on. Some of these decisions are mind numbing - A Dem Senator in SC, a Mayor who let her city burn to the ground as GA Governor, Texas about to put the equivalent of a California beta male in the US Senate. Voters are simply done and ready to move on. Thank god I live in Florida.
