Goodbye to all the union-negotiated platinum plans the UAW spent decades gaining at the bargaining table.
🚨 JUST NOW: El-Sayed confirms Medicare for All would get rid of private insurance plans Abdul: “If the government is everybody’s insurer, it’s basically buying [healthcare] for everybody” Host: "So you remove the insurance companies and government is now the insurer?" Abdul: "Government becomes the insurer" Abdul goes on to say insurance companies will be allowed to offer "luxury products for a couple folks"

NBA Rule 4, Sec. III defines "Gather" as: "b) A player already in control of the ball while dribbling The gather occurs when the player does any one of the following: Puts two hands on the ball, or otherwise permits the ball to come to rest while in control of it. Puts a hand under the ball and brings it to a pause. Otherwise gains enough control to hold it, change hands, pass, shoot, or cradle it against their body." He took 4 steps after his right hand was under the ball. You don't know the NBA dribble rules.
This is the type of shit people who don’t know NBA dribble rules will absolutely lose their minds over, lmao

So, it seems that the USAO for CDCA has been reading my Substack. When I worked in EDCA, those guys stole my work then too. shipwreckedcrew.substack.com…

The "gather" is a bit more than that: Two Hands: Put two hands on the ball. Ball Comes to Rest: Permit the ball to come to rest in one hand while maintaining control of it (palming or carrying). Hand Under the Ball: Place a hand under the ball and bring it to a pause. Sufficient Control: Otherwise gain enough control of the ball to hold it, change hands, pass, shoot, or cradle it against their body. Ball "otherwise gained control" and then took 4 steps.
Insanely frustrating for ALL 3 NBA broadcasters for an ESPN game to not know the rules. As long as the ball isn't gathered (the ball hasn't come to rest while controlling it) there's no limit on the number of steps between dribbles/before the gather. "Looking sketchy" ≠ travel

It is now a revenue stream. Now a no-show is a no-cost easy $50+. Only the wait staff don't get paid.
Just made dinner reservations at a nice DC restaurant for tonight for 6. They took my credit card, because they charge $25 per person for cancelled reservations — at any point now. Just by clicking 'reserve,' we're on the hook for $150. That's new for me. $25 *per person.*

Sometimes it takes longer for some young people to understand the power of compounding than it does for others.
People might think I’m an idiot but I’m currently not contributing to my 401K. I don’t see the value of locking up my money until I’m 59.5 years old. If we’re on here talking about early retirement, then how do you plan to spend that money without paying fees? Idk hot take.

Don't ask an economist to offer an opinion about the law. The chances of Calif collecting from individuals who left the state is very remote.
An economist at a top school should be a better economist than this.

Since 14 of 14 District Judges in NDCA were appointed by Obama or Biden, did it really matter which one it was?

But, as Scalia noted, the remedy was "release" to do the one thing he was forbidden by law from doing -- living in the U.S.

It's a polemic. That's what political opponents say. Politics ain't beanbag. El-Sayed wants to play cute with his associations, he's going to get jabbed by hyperbole.
To be clear: the Republican guest said Abdul El-Sayed goes to bed in "Bin Laden's jersey" and CNN host Dana Bash said nothing, not a word of condemnation of her Republican guest - only the Democratic guest Guy Cecil pushed back, on his own. At the end of the segment, Bash said she "appreciated" the Republican guest coming on. Is it because she shares his bigoted view of El-Sayed being a Bin Laden sympathizer? Either way, it's insane how normalized the Islamophobia has become on mainstream cable news.

You're comm'ing with a guy who prosecuted Bank Secrecy Act cases. I likely know the KNC standards better than you do. WFB didn't ask for my ID. Had they done so they would have seen the name on the account and my last name were the same. I could have written a paper check out to them, and they would have taken that. But they would not allow me to deposit the cash I had only 60 seconds earlier taken from their ATM machine into my son's account. Impose a cash limit to discourage money laundering? Fine -- put in place a limit. But the limit can't be less than what their own ATM dispenses to me, and I then carry to a teller to make a deposit. I'm not taking anything. I'm not putting the bank at risk in any way. Major banks are stupid on KYC standards. Some of the biggest idiots at banks I've ever met are in bank security responsible for KYC rules. They are so afraid of Comptroller regulators they impose stupid rules that federal law enforcement laughs at when they say "Aren't we doing a great job?" That's why 99% of all STRs end up in the trash.
Citi reverts to your PIN sometimes, but proper Id is required. These are regulatory rules and not the bank doing something wrong. It’s inconvenient but this is what KYC/AML means for a bank. We don’t accept deposits without proper ID. Ever. We don’t give out cashiers checks to non-account holders. This is all basic stuff.

Then DOJ/DHS would have evidence of their naturalization in their A-File. Nearly all naturalized citizens were Green Card holders -- meaning they had an A-File. When they seek naturalization, that goes into their A-File. DOJ/DHS created the 20,000 person list from A-Files. It is highly unlikely that the 20,000 names include naturalized citizens -- DOJ/DHS said in the complaint they screened those out.
Replying to @shipwreckedcrew
Nobody has confirmed these “believe[d]” to be noncitizens are actually non-citizens, not yet at least. There are around 5.9m naturalized citizens in CA, and wouldn’t be surprising if a majority of these individuals who have been flagged by DOJ are such.

Bonta didn't change the judge. It was changed by a Local Rule that applies to all civil cases filed in that Court. Every federal court has a variation of the same rule.
Replying to @shipwreckedcrew
Did you see Bonta changed the judge assigned to non citizen voting case. So Much corruption. Now a Clinton judge. Same one who threw out another case for California Democrats. I am so sick of these crooks and frauds man. @CivilRights American citizens being disenfranchised

Seems clear to me now that the theory is going to be that she was NOT related to the person she claimed was her father, so she could NOT get derivative citizenship via his naturalization whether he ever was naturalized or not. She has been an undocumented alien in the US her entire life because her real father remained in Great Britain when she came to the U.S. with a different family who lied about her being their daughter. This is why they wanted DNA of her sister, and already had DNA of her husband/brother. There is reporting that this all kicked off recently over a group text message on her sister's phone -- LIKELY obtained in connection with the fraud investigations in Minneapolis that involve her sister. THAT's why they wanted her phone so badly -- to find the same message on her phone. She's probably in the group chat that was found on her sister's phone. The message must reveal some information about them not being part of the same family. If she acknowledged knowing that was the case, then she has lied numerous times as an adult about what she knew about her lineage and whether she was naturalized. Lying about citizenship is a federal crime.
That is going to draw the ire of Judge Boasberg. That was planted in there intentionally to publish a non-public fact in a matter still pending before the GJ and about a SW that is still sealed.

We might see local officials -- not all are Dems -- in Calif 58 counties begin to break with State Officials since a sizable number of the 20,000 named individuals have voted in past elections. DOJ never said all 20,000 had voted. LA says "Only 30%." shipwreckedcrew.substack.com…
