What the gurus say:
"Fat makes you fat!"
“Carbs make you fat1"
"Sugar makes you fat!"
"Seed oils make you fat!"
The truth:
Any calorie-containing food can make you fat if you eat too much of it.
This is the most important nutrition rule to learn for fat loss.

This is not true. Not everyone on a keto or carnivore diet will have high LDL-C whether they are lean or not. One person with a genetic mutation doesn't negate studies with thousands of lean, healthy, young people with no CAC, no IR, low BMI that all get ASCVD due to high LDL-C.
It is becoming increasingly apparent that being lean, which is almost always a good thing, is the major driving force to elevate LDL cholesterol on those on a low carbohydrate diet and not the saturated fat consumption which has a small effect!
What is NOT known is whether this higher LDL cholesterol in these lean people results in an overall increase in cardiovascular risk given the typical reduction in other risk factors
The LMHR study which finishes the data collection phase this month should give us greater insight into this question, but more studies will need to be done on this population to make more definitive conclusions!

A paper by @AdrianSotoMota @nicknorwitz @davidludwigmd et al. reanalyzed data from our previous study, claiming to have invalidated our primary findings, & concluding that our data support the carbohydrate-insulin model (CIM) of obesity. Our response: jn.nutrition.org/article/S00…

Here’s a novel fucking concept. When you make a claim in the affirmative you are the one who the burden of proof lies with. Claiming something and then demanding I do YOUR mental foot work is lazy.

1️⃣Let’s get your hormones checked.
2️⃣We should check you for heavy metals.
3️⃣You NEED 5+ supplements.

Your conclusion appears to contain either a contradiction or a category error of some kind. Consider this example with the same structure.
"5kg of gold does not have the same value as 5kg of copper, therefore a kg is not a kg."
What does that even mean?
A 400-calorie donut and 400 calories of salmon have *wildly* different effects on the body and #satiety and future food intake.
Repeatedly eating a 400-cal donut drives obesity and poor metabolic health, while 400 cal of salmon protects against it.
A calorie is not a calorie.
