I am a granddaughter of the Wind Clan. My grandmothers were Sehoy I, II, and III. My family stayed in our ancestral homelands, and through generations, our stories and some of our teachings survived.
In our Mvskoke story, Hesaketvmesē sent the Wind to clear the fog so the people could SEE one another again.
Now look around us.
Elections. Turmoil. Fear. Division. People turning against their own families and neighbors.
We're so damn busy fighting through the fog that sometimes we forget who's standing on the other side of it.
I've spent years as an Anon asking questions, searching for answers, and speaking when I believed something needed to be said. Not because I expect everyone to agree with me. I want people to LOOK, THINK, and SEE for themselves.
And I want us to remember one another.
My grandmothers didn't preserve their stories for their granddaughter to sit silently while people tear each other apart.
