Right on cue, here's the Governor-General using the Helen Haines tragedy to complain about social media - just in time for the social media duty of care bill.

Do any of these kids actually study? Another Pauline Hanson protest. I guess they didn't hear Albo saying we should all tone it down a bit.

What an asset for any party fortunate enough to receive his services …. @PaulineHansonOz

Yes. What happened was that it was about 5pm on a Wednesday I think. I was a staffer for Ross Cameron MP.
I just happened to be walking past the House of Reps chamber and saw that the public gallery was unusually full for that time of the day ... so I poked my head in to see Joe Hockey giving his maiden speech.
The public gallery was full because 29 year old Hockey was convinced he was on his way to The Lodge ... and so he had a tonne of friends who wanted to be there for his grand arrival into parliament.
The public gallery was so packed that awkwardly I could not find a seat but 30 seconds in and Hockey had wrapped up ... and so the public gallery emptied as they all went off to a big cocktail party for Joe.
As I was heading out I heard the Speaker say, 'I now call the Member for Oxley and remind the House this is her first address to parliament.' I thought, 'oh cool - have to hang around for this.'
My seat was actually so directly above where she was speaking that I couldn't see her but I heard it all very clearly.
Afterwards I went to Ross' office and arrived there as he did. I said, 'you are not going to believe what Pauline Hanson just said.' He said, "yeah, I was in the chamber for Joe's speech but stayed for Pauline's."
Ross said, 'let's go and wish her well' ... so we went around to her office and commended her for her courage. Pauline was there with one staffer and a bottle of wine.
We were only there a minute or two but I recall looking out the window ... and down on the lawn was Joe Hockey with about 300 mates from the Liberal Party and the corporate world ... all having a lavish celebration. I recall thinking something like, 'this humble independent might well end up having a bigger impact than Joe.'

The Parliamentary Budget Office calculates the financial costs of policies proposed by the major parties.
Labor's latest desperate attempt to discredit Mike Newman and One Nation is to extend that service to political parties that have a 'reasonable chance of forming government' at the next election ... which means One Nation.
So, Labor made that offer and Mr Newman rightly responded that he wanted to understand what the professional capacity of the Parliamentary Budget Office is before they submitted policies. Fair enough.
Mr Newman has worked at the highest levels of finance while the Parliamentary Budget Office are bureaucrats. Maybe they are terrific at their job or maybe not. I am confident if Mr Newman gets to have a chat with them he will quickly work out their skill level.
But Premier Minns and others leapt to say that Mr Newman doesn't want their policies costed. It's more fake news. It's desperate. It's laughable.
Here's the facts ma'am!
Clare O'Neil MP making it all about her again today 🥱 and some letter she got 20 years ago which really only shows that this stuff existed before social media was even a thing.

Are you stupid? Are you struggling at uni?
You too can pretend to know it all by attending the Pauline Hanson protest. Join with all your stupid mates and celebrate your ignorance.
Don’t miss out! 🤡

In January, when the inevitable 'Invasion Day' protests are held and the usual suspects scream that they want to burn Australia down, will @AlboMP call for 'the heat to be turned down'?
I bet he won't.

HAINES HERSELF ACKNOWLEDGED KNOWLEDGE OF LABOR’S DIRT SHEET
But she can’t speak out anymore so Labor are taking advantage
Albanese just lied to her grieving husband
***He just lied to Helen Haines, while she is fighting for life***
Albanese denies circulating the Helen Haines Dirt Sheet, but unfortunately for him, she herself acknowledged it
The Daily Mail directly spoke to Helen who said, “They are pretty desperate” when the dirt sheet was brought to her attention
Never in politics have we ever witnessed anything so shocking
