Tons of other people have commented on this. Nothing about this site is innovative, edgy, or influential. Two years ago, Captive Dreamer broke the story of how Haitians invaded Springfield and Trump brought it up in his debate with Kamala. I had offline friends and family sending me his posts not knowing that I knew him online. None of that happened this cycle, nothing here moved the needle. A few weeks back, I installed a browser plugin that uses X's geolocation capabilities to automatically hide posts and accounts that originate from any country and region I choose. I immediately blocked India, Pakistan, most of Africa, and most of the Middle East. This has made looking at the site more bearable, but I constantly see people QTing Indians, Nigerians, and the like. Too many times a day. The entire goddamn Internet is like an Istanbul bazaar. I used to inveigh against the Retard Right, but now I largely ignore them aside from occasional jabs. What's the point? Normies aren't listening to them OR their plan truster foils. They're not watching Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, or plan truster shows. They're doomscrolling on TikTok and watching makeup tutorials or a clip of a travelogue that some sweaty Ramesh stole from YouTube, chopped up in CapCut, and slapped an AI voiceover on. This goes double for zoomers and Gen Alphas. Plan trusters didn't see what was coming because we're disconnected from the median American (that includes me), and panicans pulled a James Lindsay, arrived at the right conclusion by accident, and are now going to Lindsay themselves using the same flawed logic. Any site that relies on text is millennials or older. Hell, even being on here as a zoomer, regardless of your views, is the modern equivalent of listening to Roy Orbison as a teenager in the 70s. On a recent episode of his podcast, Jack said that quitting X had zero effect on his Patreon subscriptions or podcast downloads. Pretty sure Vance is the only person in government who notices what's going on here, to his detriment. The discourse is dead, at least here. I'm going to cope by doing what I've always done: take nothing on this site seriously or personally. I have a ton of projects elsewhere in addition to my day job and all of them are more interesting than endlessly rehashing the same arguments, coping with growing mental illness from people who got oneshotted by FYP, and Groundhog Day-ing my way through what is any functioning person's idea of Hell.
