Please listen!
My brother Peter Ojur, former MUK Guild President, many-time MP candidate in Soroti, and one of the region's most brilliant sons, gives a very informed and sound opinion on the Elwelu issue.
Addressing those who want to “torment” Elwelu, he captures the irony of imagining that a seasoned NRA/UPDF General, who has earned his accolades, fought and commanded battles across the continent, would even attempt to launch a rebellion in a theatre where he would not be able to prosecute it fully.
Rebellion in Teso is practically impossible to conceive, plan and execute for the following reasons, he says:
Also, @PLUsecretariat needs to streamline its communication strategy, channels and spokesperson arrangements. You cannot have everybody speaking on your behalf, or in your name.
Do you realise that Hon. Ecweru's statement, largely interpreted as representing PLU, is what brought Iteso together on this issue and spilled over into the current contentions with PLU?
Teso's response to the Elwelu saga, has shown what a people can do when united. Meanwhile my PLU friends need to learn how to respond to adversaries through the force of logic and reason. It cant be that you should resort to brute force, insult and intimidation all the time.
Teso leaders are not tribalising the Elwelu issue. Stop projecting your own provincial thinking onto others. Speaking up to help de-escalate the issue is not tribalising it. What is wrong with some people?
To the leaders of Teso, please speak up, and let us diffuse the tension. Ignore those abusing you. Those are intellectual philistines with nothing meaningful to say.
I am seeing individuals who are calling for calm, dialogue and reconciliation over the Elwelu saga being attacked by a small clique of people.
The MP for Soroti City West, Hon. @EchoduOfficial, issued a very sombre and measured statement that everyone should be applauding. Now, some people are claiming that he is tribalising the whole thing.
Ironically, when you read Echodu's statement, there is not the slightest attempt to tribalise the issue, apart from the fact that he speaks as a leader from Teso. It seems some individuals would rather cheer on radical calls that only fuel more controversy. They are imputing their own insecurities and preoccupation with tribalism onto others.
These fellows seem to think everyone thinks provincially, just like they do.
I respect people like @EchoduOfficial who are calling for, and actively working towards, de-escalating the tension. Why attack and threaten them with your own fabricated nonsense, even going personal to attack the man's family life.
Please stop it.
The tension as it is currently, is not good for Teso, and Uganda, for that matter.
You can't build nations through mechanisms that are managed by warlords — Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki to RT
'Everybody’s coming and lecturing us on democracy’
Musa Ecweru seems the most unpopular man from Teso right now, following his strong statement on Elwelu. The way he is being roasted left right, here and there! Musa might have to reconsider his statement.

The Elwelu issue has stirred a lot of talk across Teso. Admittedly, many sympathise with him. Ecweru's ultimatums and threats have not helped, and if anything, have only increased public sympathy for Elwelu. As Teso leaders, lets front dialogue, and avoid strong man posturing.

I strongly object to any attempt to go to war with Eritrea.
Ethiopians and Eritreans are brotherly people having close ties.
Dialogue on any matter than going for war.
Africa doesn't need more wars.
@Futurical
I believe that Ethiopia has legal & a moral right extending beyond sovereignty to remove the Isaias regime in order to put an end to the aggression, interference, & obstruction of dev’t & progress that it has faced from that regime over the past 30 years.

Its almost three years now, since i wrote this regarding @AKorybko
Then, some doubted.
But today, I am exonerated.
Always watch out for non-Africans concocting analyses justifying and fuelling war in Africa.
@AKorybko is doing that, exactly.
Hired American pseudo-political analyst, @AKorybko, is in meltdown mode, playing victim, posting memes, engaging in racist donation stunts by placing bets on African lives. Fact is, he is on payroll of an African country in collusion with US to trigger war in the HoA.

I often ask myself what happened to this moment when the 2018 Joint Declaration on Comprehensive Cooperation Between Ethiopia, Somalia, and Eritrea was signed. Western-aligned press screamed like it was the worst thing that had ever happened to the Horn, and I have no doubt that unseen foreign hands were in play to undermine it.
I am finding difficulty contemplating the escalating war in northern Ethiopia, without faulting all actors. Yet, in the interest of peace, we must all agree that war in itself, wont resolve the matter, and that dialogue, as often, is the most sustainable way.
Friends and comrades. Remember the Africa Interest - Our Pan African Publication? It went off air for almost two yeas now because i struggled to sustain its website hosting last time. But i think we now should revive it. Who is with me?
It is hardly a sign of great military intelligence to underestimate the might of the Eritrean Defence Forces, and the resilience of the Eritrean people. Please read about their liberation, consider how they have survived decades under some of the world's worst sanctions.
