Israel was promised to a Mesopotamian (Abraham) by a god I don’t believe in. Seems a fair way to do politics in 20th and 21st centuries. Where next?
ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt says God promised Israel to the Jews "thousands of years ago."

The latest footage from Gaza. It wasn't just Israel who did this. The West did this. We will never scrub the shame away.

This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, ‘What has the ECHR ever done for us?’ It’s just perfect in every possible way … including the ending 😂😂😂 RIP. 🎥 The Guardian

Watching building of the Titianic prog on @Channel4 & is the continual, booming music really necessary? Doesn’t even cease when contributors are speaking. So distracting….

Yesterday, I was barred from entering the West Bank by Israeli officials, as part of a @ProgIntl delegation. What's happening here in Palestine is unjust. We've just witnessed what Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and many others have called a genocide unfold in Gaza. We came here to show the world, and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Israeli government didn't allow that.

While thousands of elderly people died unnecessarily in old folks homes, Matt Hancock was dishing out multi-£Million taxpayer funded contracts to... ➡️his pub landlord mate, ➡️his horsey friend, ➡️his sister's company ➡️and the brother of his mistress. Why isn't he in the jail?

Following the Covid Inquiry's damning verdict on @MattHancock, we've launched a petition to remove him from the Privy Council. His actions led to thousands of avoidable deaths. This is a first symbolic step towards accountability. Sign and share: c.org/RJtgMtQF2f

Matt Hancock is trending. Do you remember him crying on TV... like a stepdad appealing for the return of the daughter he knows is under the garage floor.

I don’t how it came out nor how reliably, but didn’t Johnson dismiss concerns about care home residents because they were in their 80s & would die soon anyway? The other ‘big call he got right’ was to take Covid ‘on the chin’. Just let it sweep through resulting in herd immunity & a golden economic opportunity. It was only when Cummings dinned it into his privileged, stupid head that the NHS was going to fall over that the Covid regs. were rushed through on 23 Mar 2020, the day Cummings fled north. No one has gone to jail.
During the Covid-19 Inquiry a civil servant described the number of COVID-related deaths of elderly people as ‘“a generational slaughter within care homes.”’ This is a terrible indictment of Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock, Helen Whately and everyone who allowed it to happen. @BorisJohnson @MattHancock @Helen_Whately @Conservatives

The country is going down the pan and our Prime Minister is faffing around tweaking parking tickets. What is the point in Burnham if he refuses to touch the big issues like the ballooning benefits bill?

There was no protective ring around care homes; but there obviously is one around Michelle Mone and Dido Harding

2020: Matt Hancock, "Right from the start we've tried to throw a protective ring around our care homes" 2026: Baroness Hallett, "The claim that a so called protective ring has be thrown around care homes right from the start was unfounded. Quite the opposite is true. The adult social care sector as a whole, appeared to be something of an after thought" My view: Matt Hancock said the government had tried to throw a “protective ring” around care homes. He repeated the claim in Parliament. Nadhim Zahawi later publicly backed it, while Boris Johnson defended the government’s handling when challenged. Now Baroness Hallett’s inquiry has rejected the claim as unfounded: care homes were not protected from the start; adult social care was treated as an afterthought. This was more than a failure of words. Patients were discharged from hospitals into care homes without routine testing, and care homes were not advised to isolate those arrivals. Staff faced shortages of PPE and testing, while residents and families bore the consequences. The inquiry describes a system that failed to plan for the risks and failed to put care homes at the centre of its response. What we saw was a collective failure—a collaboration of incompetence at the expense of life. The phrase “protective ring” offered reassurance while the protections people needed were missing. Thousands of families were left grieving, and care workers were left trying to cope with the consequences. Those responsible should face the findings honestly, explain how this happened and make sure the lessons lead to change. But the question remains, why is there almost no accountability for the actions government ministers took during covid?

Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites @bbclaurak @bbcnickrobinson @JustinOnWeb @BBCr4today
“[Saying] ‘Zionism is racism’ is offensive, it’s antisemitic and it’s dangerous” Broadcaster Jo Coburn says she “watched in horror” as the Green Party passed its motion on Zionism and criticises leader Zack Polanski's defence in his #BBCLauraK interview bbc.co.uk/news/live/c64gv8k2…

Spot on. 'And that is how you should remember Yvette Cooper, “intellectually bankrupt, politically unprincipled and morally wrong.”'
Left: Yvette Cooper saying something on BBC Laura Kuenssberg Right: One of the 3,600 old people arrested for non violent protest because of a policy Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper rolled out; this one, the daughter of a Holocaust survivor Never forget Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper's legacy which has seen thousands arrested for non violent protest. At the Labour party conference Cooper tried to dismiss her involvement in the policy, even though she announced it and implemented it. In opposition Cooper was a rockstar calling out the chaos, cruelty and injustice of the Conservatives. In office, she has done worse than Suella Braverman and Priti Patel combined. As Baron Hain said, the proscription is “intellectually bankrupt, politically unprincipled and morally wrong.” And that is how you should remember Yvette Cooper, “intellectually bankrupt, politically unprincipled and morally wrong.”

To be clear, the only reason I was able to reach Heidi was because young Palestinians provided cover with rocks against machine-gun- and tear-gas-wielding settlers and soldiers. It’s those kids, not the settler terrorists, who the IDF was hunting after the attack.
This is @infinite_jaz rushing to help Heidi under fire from Israeli settlers slings
