Secularism that celebrates diversity, imbibes multiple cultures and is home to all religions. That's what India has been for centuries. Now under threat, again.

The Maharashtra government is brazenly attempting to subvert the democratic mandate of milk producers at the Gokul Milk Federation by using legislative changes to manipulate the composition of an elected board. In the 19 October elections, the Congress-led panel won 13 of 25 seats, securing a majority over the Mahayuti’s 12. After Mahayuti-backed directors stalled the chairman’s election by remaining absent, the Bombay High Court directed a fresh election on 10 November. Instead of allowing the elected board to function, the state Cabinet has approved a proposal to nominate four government directors with voting rights, potentially altering the electoral arithmetic and overturning the mandate of milk producers. The larger question is whether a government can change the rules after an election simply because it does not like the result. We are challenging this decision in the Supreme Court to defend the democratic mandate and the autonomy of cooperative institutions.

Vance posting as if he’s an online pundit or commentator and not the vice-president in the administration that launched this war and then defended this war.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

BJP led front lost prestigious Gokul Milk Federation election to Congress led front. Natural step, accept defeat & work to improve performance in next polls. No way, BJP led state appointed 5 members, with voting power. Now, soon Gokul will be ruled by BJP. Long live democracy!!

When you listen to James Talarico, you realize that last night's results were not just a rejection of Trump and Israel's Iran war, but also a rejection of a Democratic Party led by people like Biden, Blinken, and Sullivan: "I've never taken money from AIPAC, and I'm not taking money from AIPAC in this campaign. Seeing what's happening in Gaza makes me sick to my stomach as a teacher, as a Christian, as a human being" This is his message, and he won in Texas!

If you want to understand the State of India’s education and our priorities, read this: 1. In Hyderabad, a university declared a holiday so that students can watch a movie. 2. In West Bengal, the Madhyamik exams were postponed as teachers were on census duty. 3. In Bareilly, schools were shut for a BJP padyatra about protecting democracy!! 4. In Ladakh, a school run by Soman Wangchuk is being asked to shut down. 5. In mumbai, 24 of the total 34 teachers of one school were moved to booth level officer duties. 6. In Karnataka, students got less scores as teachers busy on SIR duty couldn’t teach. 7. In Maharashtra, the election commission recommended alternate days of schooling so that teachers can do election related work. 8. In Maharashtra, 95 FIRs were filed against teachers who refused election work. 9. In Orissa, all schools were closed in a city during the PM’s visit. 10. Calcutta University moved its exams as Central forces were housed in 12 of its affiliated colleges and there was no space to hold exams. Demographic dividend, any one?

I hate to say it, but America is over. The communists and jihadists are going to open our borders and replace our votes with votes from illegals aliens. We now have reps who openly speak about their hatred of America, their love of communism and their support for sharia law. We won’t be able to undo the damage they cause on our country come 2028. America 250 was a funeral. The American Dream is dead.

The rate at which the BJP flips, it should be called the Bharatiya Janata Palti. With elections approaching in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Himachal Pradesh - states with high per capita recruitment rates in the Indian Armed Forces - the government has announced a major change to the Agniveer scheme. Under the revised arrangement: 1️⃣ The existing provision to absorb 25% of Agniveers into the regular cadre remains. 2️⃣ The remaining 75% will now be offered a two-year extension of their engagement. 3️⃣ At the end of these two years, they will also have the opportunity to apply for regular enrolment, subject to their willingness and objective selection criteria. This is a significant departure from the original four-year exit arrangement. Shri @RahulGandhi has repeatedly warned that the Agniveer scheme is unsustainable and demanded that the government reconsider it. Today's announcement brings those concerns back into focus. Yet another "I told you so" moment for Rahul Ji.
#WATCH | Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff General NS Raja Subramani says, "... 25% of those (Agniveers) who complete their initial four-year engagement period will be enrolled as regular soldiers. Regarding the remaining 75%, the Indian Defence Forces have recommended—and the Cabinet has approved today—that they be granted a second engagement period of two years. Upon completing this two-year extension, all these Agniveers will be offered the opportunity to enroll as regular soldiers in the Indian Armed Forces, contingent upon their own willingness and their ability to meet objective selection criteria."
