I suspect that has a role to play. There’s also the relative stagnation of practices’ ability to recruit more due to funding constraints. Training more GPs for the rest of the world.

As at June 2026, the number of GP registrars completing training who have a job (per NHSE data) is 27%. Shocking.

Fully expect the govt anti-Dr PR machine to roll into full action now They’ll wheel out the same retired Drs, media chattering heads & MSM Clownery to whip the public up into a frenzy Timeline about to get very bilious Bring it on
Senior doctors in England are to stage a two day strike in late November. Consultants who are members of the doctors union the BMA will strike on Nov 25th and 26th in a pay dispute which also covers working hours and conditions. The last strike by consultants was in 2023.

If you think it's not important to fix conditions and pay for consultants then read just one of the messages I got today. Where are the Drs? They've gone to places with better work life balance and better pay. Without Drs there's no NHS.

Many consultants working in the toughest environments e.g emergency medicine / acute medical specialties have no private income. They are not earning anywhere close to 200 k

We've been talking for 18 months. We were expecting negotiations starting on the 16th October. It's hard to see this as anything other than the last resort. What's more, if they come to the table with something to address the issues around survivability, professional time, pay, pension access they'll be no strikes at all.

Simon Heffer reviewing Liz Truss’s new book for the Torygraph: “Of all the books I have ever reviewed that purported to offer a serious thesis, this is without question the most deranged. If you are seeking a Christmas present for someone you really don’t like, give them a copy.”

CQC are too banging on GPs doors telling them they are shit and useless as they have a fucking felt notice board. Meanwhile trusts are bringing in Llamas who shit up the corridor, put it on their social media profile, get an award from HSJ and the CEO gets a fucking knighthood.

It seems strange that there is such warranted concern about staff access to records and breaches of confidentiality, yet totally random people looking to profit from patient data have full access to patient records even if patients explicitly state they refuse Palantir access
NHS England has said that you cannot opt out of Palantir having your medical data and they refuse to review their policy. So if you live in England, Palantir, Donald Trump, Netanyahu and co have access to all your medical data. Nobody voted for this.

What??? What did you do?? I became a family doctor in 2003- and remain so.. It’s you and your predecessors and successors who have harped on about access when we know our strength re continuity of care. And it doesn’t help when govt and MSM demonise GPs, prompting numbers to drop

2004 wasn’t the time Family Doctors were scrapped 2010 seems to be the moment the decline started @Jeremy_Hunt you failed because you didn’t invest in GPs Funding was cut 2014-2024 by 20% per patient, training more but no funding to retain Then there was funding of ARRS 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ah, but Jeremy Hunt really is an expert in public deception. He could run a masterclass on publicly lying through your teeth, and it’s the one topic that he could teach on that would be nearly worth the predictably extortionate attendance fee he’d charge.

It is hugely frustrating to see the person who was the longest serving SoS for Health @Jeremy_Hunt paraded out on almost every media channel as a bastion of patient safety - from maternity, to pandemic preparedness etc. Many of the issues we currently have started on his watch!
Unregulated expansion of PAs started in 2015 It took 10 years to finally get the Leng Review 15m after being published it is still not being followed, sadly there are some who are still pushing for undiagnosed (undifferentiated) patients to be seen first by PAs in GP practices0

You turbo charged their replacement with two year trained PAs because you restructured NHS as a fragmented second class service buying in not providing. No longer Comprehensive Universal or National, core foundations of the original NHS. You lie so easily. It's infuriating.

It should be a privilege and honour to do it for free (or poor pay) innit? Oh wait, how much did some in management get for redundancies recently? How much are paid to the management consultancies? Only frontline staff get guilt tripped into poor pay
It utterly baffles me as to why some think that the NHS doesn't obey the basic laws of economics.

Compounded by his manoeuvring to have Charlie Massey at the helm of the GMC. This appointment was the final nail for any semblance of standards in our health care service
