Have said this downturn (or whatever you want to call it) will essentially be a 'white collar recession'. To date, layoffs have been almost entirely in WC workforce which is UNIQUE in 🇺🇸 History. All previous slowdowns/recessions have started in BC workforce & bled into WC.
Are you too expensive? Are you too human? 👇 I used to say: Don’t worry about ageism. (so many posts and videos on this) I helped 55+ land great jobs all the time. I don’t say that anymore. The last 18 months have been brutal. People with 15–25 years at one company? CUT. I'll call it for what it is: • They make too much • They’re not AI-native • They lead people... now replaced by dashboards That’s the new layoff filter. The stats are just as brutal: - Avg job hunt at 55+? 26 weeks - Avg pay cut? 11% - Many never recover... forced into part-time “retirement” HR’s seriously broken. Recruiting? Mostly useless. I’ve seen the best people erased like they never mattered. If you’re not scared yet, you’re not paying attention.

The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady today, and we think patience is the right approach. Inflation remains high, but the question isn't simply whether rates should go higher. It's whether higher rates would actually address the inflation that remains. The challenge is that parts of the economy, and of inflation itself, are moving at very different speeds. Growth remains remarkably resilient in aggregate, supported by a powerful investment cycle, but beneath the surface, parts of the economy that are more sensitive to borrowing costs are feeling considerably more restraint. We see a similar divergence in inflation. Many of the cyclical components that respond to higher interest rates appear relatively well controlled. Meanwhile, persistent pressures across energy, insurance, healthcare and education are unlikely to be meaningfully affected by another 25-basis-point rate increase. In some ways, the Fed is operating a house with one thermostat, but very different temperatures in every room. Turning it down further may make the rooms that are already cool even colder, without doing much to cool those that remain hot. That doesn't mean the Fed should become complacent. Inflation is still above its 2% objective and the Fed should retain the option to tighten further if the underlying inflation trend deteriorates. But hawkish rhetoric and patient policy can comfortably coexist, particularly when the bond market has already done some tightening of its own through higher Treasury yields. For investors, we think this environment argues for humility rather than making a heroic directional call on rates. Real yields remain attractive, and there's considerable income available across high-quality fixed income markets. We continue to favor a moderate duration posture, taking advantage of today's income opportunities while remaining patient as this unusually divergent economy evolves. The Fed doesn't need to ignore the heat. It just needs to be thoughtful about where it's coming from.

Ran it back & made another cod, pancetta, potato & corn chowder tonight. Enough to last thru Winter (I think). WF was out of Halibut, sacrebleu! Needed more sausage or pancetta to balance. 6.5 lbs of fish 4 lbs of 🥔 5 ears of 🌽 Really outstanding & makes me harken back to

Dinner by candelight. Kids exhausted from running the hills, picking wild flowers & gently peering at surrounding livestock. PEAK happiness. Have my parents (maybe 1-2 of these trips left), my gorgeous wife, kiddos and fab MIL. Younger MacGruber worked harder to 35 then any

The 10-year is VERY bouncy I'm at WF (Halibut Chowder ingredients shopping trip) & everytime I check my phone, it's bounced another 1/8th in any direction! Spoiler alert - I hate Warsh's comment about ↗️ rates slowing down AI. Fucking preposterous & INSANE (if true) to say!

MacGruber has been saying non-stop that the AI buildout is largely rate INSENSITIVE for 2+ years. The main street economy is exceedingly rate sensitive. Huge difference & why being someone who looks at averages is a loser! This raises my antenna tremendously (if true).

NEWSFLASH: Dominion CTO Eric Coomer’s libel case against me for saying Dominion’s equipment rigs elections was just thrown out by the judge on summary judgment. Trial was supposed to start next Wednesday, but the judge read our evidence and realized I was correct. No libel.

Any RE person doing business thru GFC knows someone or knows OF someone who went to jail for this. Usually client AND loan officer. Really amazing to consider all of those defending her position with that backdrop. Dare I say, she is....char-broiled here.
We have obtained a document Lisa Cook submitted to the U.S. Government while serving as Federal Reserve Governor. In it, on February 28, 2023, she represents to the U.S. Government that the Atlanta Property is her PERSONAL RESIDENCE. However, Lisa Cook, as a then-sitting Fed Governor and six months earlier, on September 1, 2022, appears to have listed that same property for RENT. Receipts below.

Hammack is totally wrong IMO Her weakness is clearly that Ohio is one of the most affordable housing mrkts in the Country and as such, she doesn't understand what's happening all over the US & how restrictive rates are to RE/CRE after cumulative inflation + elevated price points

Alot of spilt ink from the pundits on Warsh's credibility to fight inflation The market has this wrong IMO The issue is how long are we going to fight this idiotic war against Iran If prolonged, the Hawks will accidentally be proven 🎯 If short, Doves (related names) will FLY

European Commission sounds the alarm (now !!!) about the number of oil refineries closing in the region over the last 20 years. "We need to counter this trend," says EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen. "This crisis is a wake-up call." Quite.

BLS says only 414,000 Americans are "discouraged workers." Their own data says 5.8 million people outside the labor force want a job. 1.5 million more looked in the past year and quit searching. None of them count as unemployed. This is why I don't trust the numbers.

Amanda - what are the estimates of people who have just given up and completely dropped out of the job market?

It used to work outside of the game too but I think that era is likely over!
Someone had a computer play Monopoly 312 million times to find the best strategy. The winning bot won 43% of games. Its strategy: buy every property you land on, never hoard cash, and take out mortgages to get three houses as fast as possible. Pretty sure it works outside the board game too 👀

Started to layer some Political bets w/a week until the election Senate & Guvs only Putting on some 60-70% plays to fund some longer shot plays My gut is that R turnout will have nothing to do w/🍊👑 but everything to fo w/total contempt for the Socialists, Marxists & shitlibs
Probably going to amp up the political shiz until the election, mainly b/c I think the direction of voting is going to create RE winners & losers. What I wrote in '24 still stands & the #'s for 🍊👑 by Trafalgar & Rasmussen are not great. He better pull a rabbit soon or 🍑👑.

'24 was unique in that Polymarket had just launched & 🇺🇸 was excluded. It was a completely different era (which I read correctly). Now, small sized bets can dramatically alter odds & I think this is a campaign strategy being used to boost D morale. Massive dispersion b/w Guv &

Senate numbers w/in multiple States. I'd be surprised if many of the 35% candidates don't at least go to 50% once on election night. Also, 🍊👑 holds the Trump card with a MOU2, which would massively boost turnout. Equities may be sniffing some of this out but better $ in BTFD

Sold all of my Calumet between $58.50-$59.50 as I watched the Ukr & Rus peace machinations take hold. Began buying again last week & let our fave 🚽 know. Bought more on this dip today. Should become my #2 POS behind 🚀 (bot more today too). Each is a good hedge to the other
Replying to @GoForGrubes2
Sold more Calumet & took a win on EQNR. Not on fundamentals. With the election so close, Trump/Elon & Admin's main media account all going after Z HARD & Starlink being pulled from Ukr, I think we might see 'something'. Would rather re-enter after whatever that might be.

But I think given the likely SUPER earnings on 11/6, there's multiple scenarios where these both cook IN TANDEM. If 🚀 earnings weren't this week, I would have bot even more. Still eyeing the chase of a lifetime on this one.

I've previously mentioned how important a HIGH QUALITY water filtration system is. This vid below is great. Alot of societal issues stem from this. This is particularly necessary if you have boys AND live in a dense Metropolitan area. You can probably extrapolate why.
INSANE 🚨 Water testing in America shows the birth control drug Mifepristone is found throughout out tap water supply in America Here’s where it gets even crazier: “We all know we're drinking pharmaceuticals in our water. Most people are drinking tap water, and there's a lot in our water. I mean, there was one city, New York City, we actually tried to test the water in and the water testing test company said there was so many pharmaceuticals in the water that they didn't think they could ethically just isolate one contaminant. I wanted to test in New York State because it's like the abortion capital, and we literally couldn't test because they said it was so bad it would be too difficult to actually trace just one contaminant” If you’re wondering how the birth control drugs get into the water supply I can tell you Women take hormonal birth control, they then urinate. That goes into the water system. A lot of cities recycle their water, but we don't have any specific filtration mechanism for those hormones. So they just get recycled and pumped back into the municipal water supply Acutely the CEO of rainmaker even confirmed it was “a significant amount of birth control” and they it’s contributing to our infertility problem in America
