kids sports choices are not really about sports. they are all about proximity
parents are realizing that the future is all about getting their kids into circles where their kids can be close to the guy who knows the guy. in reality you don't meet anyone important wrestling

The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady today, and we think patience is the right approach. Inflation remains high, but the question isn't simply whether rates should go higher. It's whether higher rates would actually address the inflation that remains.
The challenge is that parts of the economy, and of inflation itself, are moving at very different speeds. Growth remains remarkably resilient in aggregate, supported by a powerful investment cycle, but beneath the surface, parts of the economy that are more sensitive to borrowing costs are feeling considerably more restraint. We see a similar divergence in inflation. Many of the cyclical components that respond to higher interest rates appear relatively well controlled. Meanwhile, persistent pressures across energy, insurance, healthcare and education are unlikely to be meaningfully affected by another 25-basis-point rate increase.
In some ways, the Fed is operating a house with one thermostat, but very different temperatures in every room. Turning it down further may make the rooms that are already cool even colder, without doing much to cool those that remain hot.
That doesn't mean the Fed should become complacent. Inflation is still above its 2% objective and the Fed should retain the option to tighten further if the underlying inflation trend deteriorates. But hawkish rhetoric and patient policy can comfortably coexist, particularly when the bond market has already done some tightening of its own through higher Treasury yields.
For investors, we think this environment argues for humility rather than making a heroic directional call on rates. Real yields remain attractive, and there's considerable income available across high-quality fixed income markets. We continue to favor a moderate duration posture, taking advantage of today's income opportunities while remaining patient as this unusually divergent economy evolves.
The Fed doesn't need to ignore the heat. It just needs to be thoughtful about where it's coming from.

Really amazing to consider all of those defending her position with that backdrop.
Dare I say, she is....char-broiled here.
We have obtained a document Lisa Cook submitted to the U.S. Government while serving as Federal Reserve Governor. In it, on February 28, 2023, she represents to the U.S. Government that the Atlanta Property is her PERSONAL RESIDENCE.
However, Lisa Cook, as a then-sitting Fed Governor and six months earlier, on September 1, 2022, appears to have listed that same property for RENT.
Receipts below.

Hammack is totally wrong IMO
Her weakness is clearly that Ohio is one of the most affordable housing mrkts in the Country and as such, she doesn't understand what's happening all over the US & how restrictive rates are to RE/CRE after cumulative inflation + elevated price points
Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack reiterates that now is the time for officials to act to contain inflation, adding that interest rates are not slowing the economy enough for price pressures to cool on their own bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The issue is how long are we going to fight this idiotic war against Iran
If prolonged, the Hawks will accidentally be proven 🎯
If short, Doves (related names) will FLY

BLS says only 414,000 Americans are "discouraged workers."
Their own data says 5.8 million people outside the labor force want a job.
1.5 million more looked in the past year and quit searching.
None of them count as unemployed.
This is why I don't trust the numbers.
Replying to @Amanda_Goodall
Amanda - what are the estimates of people who have just given up and completely dropped out of the job market?

2025 job growth was revised from 1.2 million to 116,000.
A 90% haircut.
2024 got cut 44% too.
I said on Sunday that hiring is what's stalling. Turns out it stalled a lot earlier than anyone reported.
And this is us payroll- this is why I don’t trust the numbers that come out. I’m already seeing the real deal quarters before the revisions. Data is beautiful.
2026…. well I think we all know how this is going.
The ‘headline’ numbers don’t tell the full story. The info I hear from the executives I work with. I hear the true insights- h*ll, I help them figure out what to do next career wise and sometimes just advise on the company growth... So I know what is really happening, and these numbers- DAMN.
When you look at the composition of job gains—what industries are they in? How many are temporary or part-time roles? Are we seeing growth in strategic positions that indicate long-term stability, or just seasonal hiring to bolster short-term metrics?
This is where executives need to pay attention. This is what I help executives with. Growth on paper doesn’t always translate to a stronger bottom line.
I’d argue it’s not just about employment numbers but about the quality of those roles. If the job market shifts too much towards low-skill positions, it can signal underlying issues in economic health and corporate investment trends.

Remember the recent US meeting with Russia.
On top of todays meeting with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey.
Things are moving.
No attack these past 2 weekends despite strong and weird insider looking flows. This weekend Benjamin is being denied attacks by his military while elections turn against him.
Things are being put in place that don't make sense if you were to attack.
If the US was about to attack and help the Saudis in regards to the Houthis, why would they offer $1b today?
If the US was about to attack, why wouldn't they do so in front of midterms to make it look like the nuclear threat is neutralized? Why not do it to help Benjamin?
A lot of things are happening and almost none look like actual escalation.
