Just like psychologists, if you can't connect with them beyond "I just want your money", then you've met a bad artist.
Good artists have the courtesy to engage with their clients and are always willing to negotiate.
Bad artists think only about how they can benefit from you.
This is wild. Fuck that artist, sounds like a selfish prick.
I once attempted to commission an artist. Couldn't even get there lol!
I was put on a waiting list and told I'd get my turn in 2 months once they finish with the clients they were already working with. I ended up waiting 8 months because the artist kept pushing me back in favor of working with more famous clients with bigger follower counts and by the time he reached me, his prices had already went up by a factor of 4 and I couldn't afford his rates. Honestly, after so much time I just assumed that I was ghosted and dropped because I wasn't famous enough or something.
When he finally contacted me about my commission after so long, I explained that I couldn't afford him at this point and obviously, he wasn't going to use the rates that he had when I first contacted him and that I'll unfortunately have to cancel.
He proceeded to lambast me and insult me for "wasting his time" and blocked me 😂😂😂
Honestly, the main thing driving people away are the holier than thou attitudes more than anything else.

And the artists complaining the most about A.I.? They're the ones who are the hardest to work with or are the most unreliable.
You get a couple bad experiences and then you relish the idea of using A.I. over an artist with an unprofessional attitude.
