๐Know your status
Per the UPHIA 2025 survey:
โ
85.3% know their status, so 1 in 7 people living with HIV still donโt.
โ
99.1% of those who know are on treatment.
โ
96.5% of those on treatment are virally suppressed and cannot pass on the virus sexually (U=U).
The gap isnโt treatment. The gap is knowing your status, and itโs widest among men and young people.
On 4 December, we test. On 5 December, we run.
Join us at Kaunda Grounds, Gulu for FREE and confidential HIV testing and other medical services. No stigma, no judgement, just care.
Run, walk, or cheer. But letโs talk. Letโs test. Letโs end stigma.

Run for something bigger this year. ๐๐พโโ๏ธ
This yearโs Gulu City Marathon is about more than medals. Weโre running to raise HIV/AIDS awareness, and Gulu needs this conversation now.
๐ Gulu City has one of the highest HIV rates in Uganda at 9% to 9.8%, almost double the national average of 5.9%.
๐ As of June 2026, 22,439 people are living with HIV in Gulu City: 14,802 women and 7,637 men.
๐ Across Acholi, prevalence is around 7%.
Uganda is winning on treatment, but losing on testing.

Uncommon advice for men:
If you don't know what to pursue in life right now. Pursue yourself. Pursue becoming the healthiest, happiest, most healed, most present, most confident version of yourself.
Then the right path will reveal itself.

I am thrilled to share that I have been selected as one of the Top 5 @CNN Heroes of 2026 out of thousands of nominations worldwide.
When I became Uganda's first #wildlife veterinarian, I never imagined that caring for mountain gorillas would lead to a movement linking public health, conservation and sustainable livelihoods. Through @CTPHuganda we've seen that when communities thrive, gorillas thrive. Our work with over 10,000 households has helped the Bwindi gorilla population grow by over 50%.
This recognition shines a light on Uganda and on the One Health approach for the whole world. The final winner is decided by your vote. I humbly ask for your support:

Voting is open now until November 29, 2026. 10 votes per day. Together, we can show that the world cares about gorillas and people co-existing. #CNNHeroes2026 #CNN #walkingWithGorillas #OneHealth @LillyAjarova

Fellow Ugandans, why arenโt we talking about this lady enough? ๐
Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka has been nominated as a CNN Hero, and sheโs now among the TOP 5! ๐บ๐ฌ
Yes, a Ugandan is among the top five CNN Heroes, and we have an opportunity to bring this recognition home!
For those who donโt know, Dr. Gladys is Ugandaโs first wildlife veterinarian. Through her work, she has dedicated her life to wildlife conservation, protecting mountain gorillas and putting Uganda on the global map.
Sheโs also consistently featured on major international media platforms, telling Ugandaโs conservation story and promoting our tourism.
Honestly, if we are looking for a person to appoint as Ugandaโs Tourism and Conservation Ambassador, her name deserves to be in that conversation.
But first, letโs get her this CNN Heroes award!
Ugandans, letโs show up! You have 10 times a day.

I am starting to highly believe in the verse @KamuntuProf shared with his guests at a recent Thanksgiving ceremony in Sheema: โWisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days.โ โ Job 12:12.
Looking at what is happening in our economy and the funny feedback we are getting from those young men in suits managing our economy, including PSST Ramathan Ggoobi, the Minister of Finance and others, I have a great testimony to share about Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile, the late former Governor of the Bank of Uganda.
He was not just knowledgeable about economics; he was wise, highly patriotic, and felt for both the poor and the rich in this country.
We were touched several times by his actions. Even from his deathbed in the ICU, he would ask his wife to call his deputy and find out how he was managing Ugandans' money. Wow! How loving and caring was he?
On the occasions I met him at the Bank, I would sometimes see him sitting in his chair in pain, yet he could leave the office as late as 8:00 p.m., long after other staff had left, making sure our economic conditions remained stable, even when it was not easy.
NAYE KIKI KYETULABA KATI???
We are being told to cut down or reduce our spending. But where is the money they are telling us not to spend, when we do not even have it?
What went wrong?
