⬇️Historic Serpent Mound - Ohio
In the rolling hills of Adams County, Ohio, a 1,348-foot earthen serpent coils across a plateau above Brush Creek—the largest surviving effigy mound in the world💫
And it sits within an ancient meteor crater! ☄️
Incredible ancient history that has survived more than our minds can ever comprehend. 🐍
Built by the ancestors of today’s Native people, it holds no burials of its own - although it remains a stunning feat of architecture from ancient people that once roamed and lived on the rolling hills of Ohio and beyond!
The serpent's open jaws cradle an oval form while the body aligns directly with the summer solstice sunset 🌇!! Amazing!
Additionally, the coils of the serpent track equinox sunrises and lunar standstills, turning the earth into a living celestial calendar that withstands time.
The true intent of the serpent mound, which is estimated to have taken hundreds of years (at least) to create, is speculative but the sacred energy of the site is clear.
One can imagine the gathering of ancient people to celebrate the cycles of sun, moon, and the underworld.
Imagine the gatherings that took place. Feel the energy that they generated and has withstood thousands of years. This energy was fostered and respected by the ancient people. Did they know things we have long since forgotten?
The native people were thought to live in seclusion - not gathering in villages or traveling extensively with grafe being only out of necessity. If true, how are numerous nearby burial mounds erected within vast, multi acreage arenas - built to very similar geometric shape combinations and sizes? And what do the shapes and sizes represent?
In addition to the mounds, there are intact artifacts built within the mounds and the effigy that are from vast distances including current day New Mexico.
Were these obtained through trading or did these ancient people travel the vast distances through unknown and thought to be hostile territory?
My opinion is that the modern day "we" are so invested in "history" as we "know it" that we are failing to truly appreciate the sophistication of ancient people.
Somewhere along the way historians decided that certain "known" things were "facts". As a result we have stopped digging with curiosity and open minds. We need to ask questions and think outside of the box we've been placed in.
History should be studied, remembered, protected so that we can learn from it. But the curiosity and openness to new ideas must remain and fostered even.
Controversial statement: We are not all knowing and we do not have everything right. There are truly astonishing histories to be learned.
Standing at the Serpent Mound last week, the intention felt clear to my limited knowledge: this was a sacred calendar and a living prayer to the serpent—a form beleived to be the guardian of the underworld, death, and rebirth.
The location felt peaceful. Like coming home.
The reason behind the location seems clear - an ancient meteor strike and not far from the river. But why the size? The shape? And the sheer effort over hundreds of years to erect this effigy, place valuable artificats within, restore and protect this effigy over the years so that it has clearly withstood modern man?
We likely will never know for sure.
The remaining energy at the Serpent Mound - as well as the nearby ancient burial mound sites - is incredibly powerful.
Respect the sacred land, honor the energy, breath in history - visit this site.
And for those willing and able to see or feel what these sites have left us beyond the physical - take the time. You won't be disappointed.

A confused college student tells Joshua Haymes she’s a man, and she doesn’t care if he wants to identify as a cat.
Then Haymes asks if he can identify as black, and her reasoning hits a brick wall fast.
HAYMES: “Why can you change your gender but I can’t change my race?”

A clinical psychology PhD student admitted she m*rdered her friend’s 6-week-old baby after confessing she had felt an urge to hurt children since she was “very, very young.”
Nicole Virzi, 32, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Pennsylvania to third-degree m*rder, aggravated as$ault and endangering the welfare of children. She will serve 35 to 80 years in state prison under a plea deal that avoided a potential de*th penalty trial on first-degree charges.
On June 15, 2024, Virzi was visiting Savannah Roberts and Ethan Katz at their Pittsburgh apartment when she pointed out scratches and bruising on one of their 6-week-old twins, Ari.
The parents took Ari to the hospital while Virzi stayed behind with his twin brother, Leon.
At 11:17 p.m., Virzi called 911 and claimed Leon had fallen from his bouncer, developed a lump on his head and was struggling to breathe.
Leon was rushed to UPMC Children’s Hospital, where he d*ed hours later.
The medical examiner determined he suffered blunt-force trauma consistent with child abu$e. He had a severe skull fracture, multiple brain bleeds and 31 separate injuries across his face, scalp, ear, abdomen, chest, arms and legs.
Police arrested Virzi the following morning. During a lengthy interrogation, she eventually admitted what happened.
“When I was alone with Leon, I shook him a couple times, hard. And I dropped him a couple times, hard,” Virzi told investigators.
She said she also flipped the infant upside down onto the bathroom tile and heard a crack.
“Something just came over me. I couldn’t control it. I’m telling you this because I can’t keep lying about it.”
Then came another disturbing admission.
“From a very, very young age, I don’t know what it is, but I always had this urge, almost like a compulsion I can’t control, to hurt kids.”
Virzi said she never intended to k*ll Leon.
“That was not my goal. I just wanted him to feel a little pain.”
She also admitted hurting Ari, who survived with scratches, bruising and swelling.
At the time, Virzi was reportedly just weeks away from completing a clinical psychology PhD through a joint San Diego State University and UC San Diego program.
Leon’s parents supported the plea agreement so they would not have to relive their son’s death through a public trial.
Virzi did not speak at the hearing but wrote the family a letter they can choose whether to read.
Roberts described holding Leon as he d*ed and repeatedly telling him, “You are loved.”
The family says they still sleep on the floor beside Ari’s crib.

He has now been held longer than many people serve for far more serious offenses, and the case is still tied up in appeals.
The protocol is broken.
A dog should not be destroyed, or slowly destroyed through long-term isolation, over a single provoked incident while the legal process drags on for more than a year.
Continuing this serves no public safety purpose.
Please settle this case and release Snuggles to his family or to one of the rescues that have offered to take him.
Use this as the moment to fix a system that allows a dog to be subjected to such abuse like this while the legal system drags out.

Help find Violet Hay, age 10.
Violet was taken from her bed in Canby, Oregon.
Around 1:39am, Pacific, an unknown man walked into an apartment in Canby.
He allegedly assaulted a 12 year old and took 10 year old Violet.
Violet is about 5' tall and 125lbs.
She's a student at Carus Elementary.
There's no description of the suspect or vehicle yet.
The FBI, Oregon State Police and Clackamas County Major Crimes are searching.

She strangled and stabbed her 3 year old daughter.
Then she drove them both to the police station.
Anum Khalil Khan, 35, of Abilene, Texas.
Her daughter, Mirha Ozair, was 3½.
On Aug. 12, she pulled into the Abilene PD parking lot.
She carried the little girl toward the doors.
Mirha had several stab wounds to her chest and belly.
Her neck had strangulation marks.
Police say Khan told officers, "I killed her."
She allegedly said she strangled her with a rope-like device, then stabbed her.
Mirha bled to death.
Khan's father tracked them to a field and followed her to the station.
Family says Khan worked as an audiologist.
She's indicted on capital murder of a child under 10.
She's held on a $3.5 million bond.
No motive has been released.
But......
She filed for divorce from Mirha's father in May 2025.
Police say she was working on divorce and custody papers the morning Mirha died.
She admitted taking medication but wouldn't say what.
I guess we just wait for the inevitable insanity defense.
