Just want to give a heads up to everyone when I discuss recruiting, best case scenarios for a team, etc…
Unless you see this tweet:
“Player 🔮 Team”
I am not locking the players I have discussed in to for sure going to said team. Just so there’s no confusion!
Don’t want to get too ahead of myself but after some of these exhibitions I am much higher on Louisville and Kentucky than I initially thought.
Kentucky- N’Diyae being better than anticipated and Mason Williams having the star potential he has shown is two very big positives. I think 23 is too low. Haven’t even seen Kam Williams, Noah and Morton yet who should help the bench pieces not have such a drastic difference when subs come in.
Louisville- Shelstad is much better than I thought he would be. I was initially worried he may be a bit inefficient and turnover prone but he’s been a calm presence so far who really gets the team going. I knew Ekezie was going to be a solid piece however with freshman I thought it may take a minute, especially being a reclass freshman at that but he has star potential. If he stays on the bench I really think he could win ACC 6MOY. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him possibly take over some at the 4 in late game situations.
Wow

Michigan State is really missing Jaxon Kohler.
No matter the result of this exhibition, I think Kansas found their identity this game.
Just keep being physical.
I just keep waiting for the old/usual Kentucky team to show up and some of these slow starts have me like “ah there it is, knew it was too good to be true” but then Stein/players turns it around and they just keep finding ways to win.
Finish strong. Find a way to make the CFP!

Ohio State replaces BYU at No. 2 while No. 1 Miami is the only team to hold its spot in the AP Top 25 poll. See where your team landed.
Portal era is crazy. Many thought Tennessee and Texas were clear 2/3 in the league. Both are underwhelming so far.
UCF will likely have Kugel back for their game in Lexington. UCF really needed some help and they’re getting it.
I was expecting Zoom to get a lot more drives and layups with having the ability to go 1 on 1 a lot since teams won’t want to help off Wilkins/Momcilovic. If he slows down some and finishes he will be fine. Through 2 games it’s clear that no one is ever coming off Momcilovic. He is face guarded 24/7 out there so attacking the drive needs to be something Zoom especially needs to perfect.
I would really have loved to see Otega with this team. Would eat in the 1 on 1 drives and if you do help Momcilovic is making you pay.
Hopefully just a learning curve for Zoom at the moment.
What I said live about Zoom Diallo was made even more apparent on film. He was just about the ONLY thing going for Kentucky offensively for the first 10 minutes of last night' exhibition. I'm back here to defend him one more time.
Had one REALLY bad turnover at the end of his first 10-11 minute rotation. First TO was a bad offensive foul call. Second was an aggressive drive. All point guards turn it over. Lamont Butler and Reed Sheppard averaged 2 per game. Brandon Knight averaged 3.2. John Wall averaged 4.
Also, he finished the game with 3 assists, but his POTENTIAL assists were in the 8-10 range. He was creating open shots for others consistently...they just didn't go in. Still the best on the team at getting a paint touch.
Needs to find his pacing offensively (that will likely come as the 'Cats open up the playbook more), needs to be more involved as a defensive rebounder, and needs to cut out the unforced errors...but overall he has been MUCH better than the public perception.
Michigan State and Marquette is an underrated exhibition today.
Ready to see what Shaka’s team looks like against a talented team.
