Zelenskyy: "When our strikes reached Yandex data centers, it suddenly became little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. Many people noticed it.
There was less hate, less division, fewer provocations because there were fewer bots. It's pretty clear where those bots were coming from.
If they disappeared when Yandex went offline, this proves once again that Europe is not the source of the problems."
The big problem is that Russia figured out how modern society consumes information a decade ago, but the West hasn't.
There are millions of bots commenting and posting Russian propaganda. There are paid influencers spreading it, with Russian bots supporting their content.
There is a gigantic machine operating to radicalize and influence Western societies, and there is not enough defense in place.
It doesn't just influence elections, it sows discord, engulfs societies in culture wars, radicalizes teenagers, and shapes political decisions when elected officials fail to read the room.
That needs to change. And fast.

On the day after @peterjukes & I broke the story of Arron Banks’s covert meetings with the Russian ambassador, I was invited onto @BBCr4today to discuss it. Big news! Finally the chance to break through to a BBC audience. Only the interview was cancelled because they needed ‘someone from the other side’ & the Russian ambassador wasn’t available. Facts don’t have a side. It meant the BBC never covered the story. And here we are..

So Zelensky took out a major Russian bot farm and social media traffic on X and other sites dropped by 50%. HALF of the traffic on social media is nothing but Russian propaganda bots and trolls.
Things that make you go hmmmm.

It's not a small team of hacks though, @FraserNelson. It's a corrupt platform owned by Farage's megadonor Paul Marshall, who gave the Clacton MP hundreds of thousands in donations disguised as salary - the highest salary per hour of a TV anchor in the UK.
Beyond that, they colluded with George Cottrell - who your current employer beautifully exposed - to bury an earlier independent reporting into the shenanigans of the convicted fraudster. Spectator's @Freddygray31 teamed up with @RaheemKassam to come up with some conspiracy theory about me being some sort of super spy (when literally everything I write is open source and verifiable).
You should also remember George Cottrell was happily mixing and mingling with journos and politicians at the Spectator Summer Party.
What you may or may not know is that Cottrell was also inviting little birds associated with @spectator and @GuidoFawkes for jolly visits to Montenegro.
Spectator are not a serious publication. Just like GBN, they are not "right-wing". They are a Reform mouthpiece. And Reform are a criminal mafia. Guilty by association? Well, when you work with criminals - yes.
