Now Menelilk's church in #Harar needs to revert back to the mosque it was. We reject Abyssinia in these parts.

You know why? The former rulers Amhara & Tigray genocide the Somalis and displaced them from Dir Dawa and Harar, why do you think they are more Amharas in Dire Dawa and Harar then Somalis or Harari?

Banadiri ๐ŸŸช๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸช jewellery made by the Qalin Shuwe-Dhabarweyne confederation. Traditionally, Banadiri ๐ŸŸช๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸช jewellery was crafted by native Banadiri artisanal clans taught by Indians and Arabs, who inherited the art from their ancestral lands. Italians and their proxies tried to mislabel this intricate jewellery as "Somalian ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ณ", yet even they admitted that jewellery on the Horn of Africaโ€”especially in the southโ€”was overwhelmingly Banadiri ๐ŸŸช๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸช. The few inland pieces were mere imitations of Banadiri work. Banadiri women looked down on jewellery outside the Banadir region for using cheap materials, the most expensive being silver, then amber, then camel bones. In this video, Banadiri ๐ŸŸช๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸช Afro-Arab Omar BaaSharah explains how he inherited the trade from ancestors taught by Indian jewellers, widely regarded as the worldโ€™s most skilled. He says: โ€œIt has a special status in our community. We are called Qalin Shube (someone who melts lead ore) and are famous for that work. People respect us for this profession... Our products used to be exhibited abroad, like in Milan, Italy.โ€ Before Somalian ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ณ neighbours rage over credit for Banadiri jewellery, note Omar BaaSharahโ€™s words: โ€œOur buildings and work equipment have been looted (by Somalians post-1991), our livelihoods destroyed, and many of us forced to flee the country.โ€ While others build and contribute, credit goes to Somalians ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ณ for destroying it. The Head of the Human Rights and Protection Team of UNSOM, and OHCHR Representative in Somalia, recognising the Banadiri nature of โ€œSomalianโ€ jewellery, says: โ€œThe Xamarweyne district of Mogadishu has a rich history and remarkable heritage and culture, a testament to the goldsmith community and its craft. Goldsmithing is not just a craft for us; it is a fundamental part of the culture that identifies the Benadir communities of Mogadishu.โ€

Emiratis allow the sale of alcohol to their wealthy unbeliever residents, which is expressly forbidden in the Qur'an. But for khat, which was originally used for religious purposes by Sufi saints in the capital of Islamic learning in East Africa (Harar), you can get a life sentence, though there is no ayat or sahih hadith that prohibits it. World of contradictions

Harar is often called the fourth holiest city in Islam, after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. Known as the โ€œCity of Saints,โ€ its old walled town (Harar Jugol) has 82 mosquesโ€”some dating to the 10th centuryโ€”and more than 100 shrines. It became the capital of the Adal Sultanate in 1520 and was a major center of Islamic learning and trade. From there, Islam spread across much of the Horn of Africa. The famous walls were later strengthened under Emir Nur ibn Mujahid to protect the city. In 2006, UNESCO listed Harar Jugol as a World Heritage Site Today the city is home to Harari, Somali, and Oromo communities, and it remains a living mix of African and Islamic culture.
