Client journey > Content pillars
Content pillars give you a structure to work with, but understanding a client's journey with your business from 'awareness' to 'advocacy' is what is actually going to help you
If you've ever gardened before, you understand the importance of systems.
You can either build so you can forecast what you'll harvest, or you'll find yourself asking Google: "Are weeds edible?"
Your business is no different.
If your business systems don't manage the outputs you as the owner directly contribute to the business, you'll always feel too busy.
I started running again this week
Thursday's pace: 8:08/km
Today's pace: 7:26/km
My system?
Secretly racing anyone in front of me
Stay on X long enough and you'll see posts exclaiming how 'far ahead of the curve' you are.
I used to think this was empty creator hype
I was wrong
I've recently discovered just how much gold there is to be found in that statement.
More soon
(art by me)
Finally finished animating this piece!
I expected the snowstorm to take longer to build, but living in a place where snow is on the ground from October to May has its perks
I've been less active on X lately, but building IRL
Wrapped up this commission for a producer in Montreal last night
This is easily the biggest and most complex piece I've ever made:
- 25km of real-world scale city, streets, & terrain
- Physically accurate atmosphere
- Functional, animate-able LED sign
- Animate-able traffic system with about 180 vehicles
- Over 630,000 individual objects
(including hundreds of buildings and thousands of trees)
From start to finish, about 60 hours of building, iterating, rendering, and crashing went into this
Don't get me wrong
I love photography
But you're limited by what you can get in front of your lens
With 3D, you have the freedom to create the ideas you have in your head from the ground up, with zero limitations
(At least until your computer crashes)
In April I put together a 22-minute module on visual content for Twitter
Out of the 60+ writers, marketers, and creators I taught, the most common feedback I saw was:
I want more
Now, with how much Twitter/X has changed since April, some of this module is out of date
If I were to re-record this, would you be more interested in:
1. A 15-20 minute overview?
(Foundational info)
Or
2. A proper course that goes deep from A to Z?
(Everything from principles & strategy to basic software & app tutorials)
Drop a 1 or 2 in the comments to let me know
Last week, @DentesLeo spoke about The War of Attention in his newsletter
It got me thinking
You could engage in the melee of content writing
Or
You could use the advantage you have over creators who only write
Playing to your strengths = Bringing an F-35 to a medieval siege
Reminder:
𝕏 isn't a place for nuance
But being a creative is
It doesn't matter whether you think your art is "good enough"
Everything you make is an important part of your growth
Don't Musk-fuck yourself into thinking your worth as a creative is all or nothing
I love creative accidents
I figured out that I can take any of the 1000s of event photos I've taken over the last decade
And use them to create color patterns that are 110% unique to my work
Moments of time that no one else has access to
Mind
Blown
"If you can be replaced, you will be replaced.
Make the cost of replacing you as expensive as possible and you'll always be in a position to dictate the rules."
