➡️ ⬅️ Bridging the gap between IT and OT is the first step in scaling #IndustrialAI, but there's more to it than connecting systems. Manufacturers also need accessible, contextualized data that's ready to support enterprise applications. In his new blog, Marteen De Vries, Strategic Alliance Manager at @Mendix explores how @Siemens and HighByte are combining Industrial #DataOps with Siemens Industrial Edge and Intelligence Center X to address this challenge. He also spotlights how glass manufacturer Vivix Vidros Planos is using this approach to scale AI across its manufacturing operations, including efforts that have helped extend the operating life of a $120 million glass furnace by two years. 📖 Read the full post: bit.ly/4hX8B4Y

🍵 Hot take: AI is exposing the factory's integration debt. In this new @MfgTodayMag article, HighByte CTO Aron Semle argues that AI is exposing decades of point-to-point “spaghetti” integration in factories, and that manufacturers must add a contextualized, governed data layer on top of existing systems before AI can scale. “You cannot come into a plant and start ripping out PLC connectivity, HMI, SCADA or the systems that are running the business today,” Semle says. “You need to hook into what is already there and provide an augmentation layer. It connects to the existing systems, gives the data a common taxonomy, contextualizes and governs it, and then provides access. The consumer should not have to understand all the complexity that has been built underneath over the previous 10 or 15 years.” More here: bit.ly/4eFF4KG

🔥 It's official: HighByte announces partnership with @databricks, providing the bridge between industrial data and AI-ready analytics for manufacturers like @gerdau. Gerdau, one of the largest steel producers in the Americas, explains the impact of this partnership in production. Using the Intelligence Hub, Gerdau contextualizes OT data closer to its source and streamlines its delivery into the Databricks Data + AI Platform. The result is less custom integration to build and maintain, and faster deployment of new data-driven initiatives. “HighByte has helped us simplify the integration of industrial data into Databricks and significantly reduce the time it takes for operational data to become available to our digital applications.” 💬 Felipe Amorim, Global Tech Architecture Manager at Gerdau Thank you to @PackIot for supporting the deployment and ongoing operation in Brazil. 🗞️ Read the announcement here: bit.ly/4ykai15

🕸️ What happens when you add AI to a factory where operators already have to work across six, eight, or even ten different systems? It inherits the fragmented data, inconsistent definitions, and missing context that those systems create. In a new @Ind_today article, HighByte Chief Product Officer John Harrington looks at the data challenges that can limit #IndustrialAI, from disconnected systems to limited governance. He also outlines how manufacturers can create a more consistent data foundation across machines, systems, and sites before expanding AI across operations. 📖 Read the full article: bit.ly/46YjFbJ

🚧 Standing up a new industrial data project can mean a lot of manual steps. Connect to a source; browse the address space; build a model; create an instance; establish a pipeline. That's why we significantly expanded the #MCP configuration tools in HighByte Intelligence Hub to support the use of AI for configuration work.   🎥 In this demo, Aron Semle begins with a completely empty project in the Intelligence Hub and provides a single prompt to an AI agent. From there, the agent uses the new configuration tools to: ✅ Browse the source and locate the injection molding machine data ✅ Create the connections from scratch ✅ Build the data model and instance ✅ Assemble a pipeline that reads the instance and publishes to a topic ✅ Deliver contextualized data to the UNS, in minutes Watch here: bit.ly/4hwxId4
