When we think about gravity as a concept, we tend to go with our thoughts to Isaac Newton and his apple, but an idea of gravity as attractive force, was first suggested by Indian astronomer Brahmagupta in the year 628 CE.
He called it "gurutvākarṣaṇ".

Why attack the Hindu community? What have Hindus ever done to you?
Despicable
Breaking - Authorities disrupt a potential mass-casualty attack in Aurora, Illinois.
Alexandros Paporakis, 19, was arrested allegedly planning an attack on an Indian Hindu Temple and threatening to take every Jew and Black minority person with him.
He is described as a self-identified white supremacist and Nazi.
Investigators say they recovered a rifle, loaded magazines, hundreds of rounds, tactical gear, body armor and a patch linked to white supremacist extremism. Paporakis also allegedly tried to shoot a man, but his rifle jammed.
A chilling reminder: threats can turn deadly fast.
See something?
SAY SOMETHING.

Heartbroken to hear that Congressman Krishnamoorthi and his family were targeted by an attempted mass shooting while worshipping. Congress must fight the horrifying rise in anti-Hindu attacks: everyone should be able to practice their faith without fear.

This is an outrage.
MBS is a complicated leader who has done some very good things and some very bad things. But the moderation taking place in Saudi is indeed real and he deserves some credit for it.
Allowing this would be a huge step back.
On behalf of the 5 million strong American Hindu community, we appeal to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to spare the life of Anojan Sivarasa, a Hindu Tamil from Sri Lanka and allow for his safe return to Sri Lanka.

They made their choice.
Now, make yours.
More than 250,000 Hindu Americans call Texas home. They now stand between two hostile currents.
On one side, a vicious campaign from the Groyper "Christian right" dehumanizes them by race and by theology.
On the other, Islamists with a civilizational hatred of Hindus are gaining ground in public squares and grassroots policymaking across the state.
Worst of all, parts of the "Christian right" and Islamist-aligned left, often meet in a horseshoe.
So,
Silence is not an option.

Unlike our adversaries who get hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants from “foundations” that spend scores of millions on driving political and geopolitical agendas against Hindus, we work on small online donations from the masses, averaging less than 75 dollars per person per year.

The fact that this overt bigot is a nominee for a statewide office in our second largest state is disgusting.
I truly hope he loses. If I were his opponent I'd make sure everyone in every Hispanic, Black and Indian community saw this.

So many of them are so consumed with tearing down the bridges of unity with Hindus that they have indeed lost their way.
Don’t wise people build those bridges higher and stronger?
It has been 25 years since 9/11. The images of pain and tragedy from that day will never go away.
Back then, when Hindu Americans like us warned about the threat of #Islamism, terrorism, and what was being planned in #Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan, we were often dismissed.
We were told to “keep your brown people’s squabbles amongst yourselves....” or that “you heathen polytheists deserve this...”
We continue to make the point today. This threat of radical Islam does not respect geography (and the geopolitical games we play), race, ethnicity or whether you describe yourself as a monotheist or polytheist.

This conduct by a U.S. government agency is intolerable and unacceptable.
We demand a retraction and an apology!
The last name 'Singh' is shared by Hindus and Sikhs.
Treating every Singh as a suspect because of the actions of anti-India Khalistan cult terror supporters is lazy, bigoted, and strategically stupid.
Indian Americans — Hindu and Sikh alike — must not be harassed, profiled, or smeared for the crimes of the ANTI-INDIA terror networks tied to the Khalistan project, who have for decades used lax asylum and commercial licensing laws in the US and Canada to create the situation we're facing today.
@DHSgov Call them Khalistan cultists, NOT SINGHS.

I have found that most of the time, honest misunderstandings due to ignorance and stereotypes lead people down a path of racism or bigotry.
I have also learned that most people, when confronted with facts and invited on a journey of discovery, gain a better comprehension of what they did not understand; the fear that drives them to a dark place lifts, and the light of knowledge bathes them in acceptance and understanding.
Being a racist requires effort and will.
Don't work harder.
Work smarter.
Namaste.

He represented everything that present day Hindu haters despise both on the Left and the Right.

40 years in shipping gave me one unusual qualification as a historian: I had no academic orthodoxies to protect.
When I began researching the history of maritime trade, I followed the sea lanes backwards into deep antiquity. Without exception, they converged on the Indian subcontinent. This was not the book I had intended to write.
I must give credit to my editor, who gave an unknown author with a controversial approach, an opportunity. His first attempts to find peer reviewers encountered significant resistance. The argument that India sat at the centre of ancient world trade, not its periphery, was considered, to put it gently, inconvenient.
What I found, and what I could not stop finding, is that placing India at the centre of world history does not simply revise one chapter. It cascades. Correct the starting assumption and you are forced to reconsider the origins of mathematics, medicine, philosophy, linguistics, religion. Each conclusion leads to another. I came to call these the collateral heresies.
My three books explain the architecture of how they connect.
If you work in a field where received wisdom is protected by institutional interest rather than evidence, you will recognise the pattern. The question is whether the evidence eventually wins.

Keep in mind the devil doesn’t always come with horns. Sometimes he wears a pastor’s collar, tactical gear, and a microphone.
Imagine you’re a young Hindu child - born in America - hearing Joel Webbon declare that you and your family are not welcome.
That your very presence is an “invasion.” Your heart sinks, you feel unwanted in your own country - simply for your faith.
That’s what he’s doing to children. He has free speech, but words like these plant fear, rejection, and self-hatred.
What kind of nation are we becoming when “men of God” teach their followers to hate their neighbors’ kids????
