Air Force vet Darcel is married, was working, has 3 kiddos. Life was great until their 3 yr old daughter got sick and died of meningitis. Parents both lost jobs because of time off when their daughter was hospitalized, then went homeless. They moved out of the homeless shelter in Augusta into a hotel via VFW. They have been approved for an apartment.
I don't get it. Where is the heart and soul of some of these people.
NOT only that but why can't the SSVF in this area do ANYTHING given the circumstances?
What about the serious trust and betrayal of an employer. Shit canning a mom and dad with a sick child? in hospital?

Army vet Mario and his family are facing eviction. Unfortunately, there is a lack of support for veterans in the state, and Mario has not received any assistance from NGOs, SSVF, VA, or other organizations after losing his job.
If Mario becomes homeless, there might be help available, but it could take up to 15 months or more. It is crucial to keep veterans housed, as homelessness can lead to prolonged homelessness.

Urgent MISSION: Assistance for Army Veteran Facing Eviction #Exton #PA
Dear X community members and supporters,
We are reaching out to the local areas and organizations to help an Army veteran, Kenneth, and his family who are facing eviction on December 14, 2023. Due to a loss of work for several months, Kenneth and his family are in dire need of support to prevent them from being evicted from their home in Exton, PA.
We are working to connect Kenneth with resources such as food banks and organizations like Veterans Place to provide them with food, gas, and other necessities. While Kenneth is expected to return to work soon, he will not receive his paycheck in time to meet the court-ordered eviction.
