Today my thoughts are with Joshua Mollel, 21yr-old agriculture student from Tanzania. Hamas savages racially abused him then executed him on the spot on #October7. Dragged his body into Gaza and Kept him for over 700 days. Israel took him home at the end for him to rest in peace.

Just clocked that Cyril Ramaphosa has been President or deputy president of this country for just under 40% of its entire democratic life.
His fingerprints over the country’s abject decline are staggering. To call him a false prophet would be an understatement.

The judiciary system in Iran has confirmed 74 lashes for Parastoo Ahmadi for the “crime” of singing.
She sang without compulsory hijab. She hurt no one. She simply used her voice.
Now she faces 74 lashes, a two-year travel ban, and a two-year ban from audiovisual activities.
This should not be only an Iranian women’s issue. Every singer, every artist, every woman, every man who believes in basic human dignity should stand with Parastoo.
Say her name. Share her story. Use your platform. 74 lashes for singing should outrage all of us.
Parastoo said:
“I am Parastoo, a girl who cannot stay silent and refuses to stop singing for the people she loves. This is my right, one I will never surrender. I sing for this land I adore, for the soil of my homeland. Here, in this sacred corner of our beloved Iran, listen to my voice in this imagined concert, and dream of a free and beautiful nation.”

ANC taking on the IEC on this issue was a bad move. Now the court might also hear how Mbalula took hours to pass the CAPTCHA test on IEC's website cos he kept selecting squares that did not contain traffic lights.
IEC tells court ANC uploaded candidate list 5mins before deadline.

In Buddhism we understand that every action comes with a consequence. Due to my decision to stand up for my Jewish friends I am losing a few people from my life. Today I parted company with Tony Pontius who has run my record label BGP for a number of years. I wanted to release 'We Will Dance Again' but he was unequivocal and said 'I want nothing to do with this song' and I responded 'ok, we are done'.
When someone is gutless it really does not hurt to say goodbye. My faith in humanity will not diminish and the truth will always win.
I will release it!

Not since the apartheid era have powerful South African news organisations betrayed the basic tenets of their profession with such zeal.

What is Adriaan Basson's salary? The public deserves insight into News24's financial statements. Given that it's the biggest news outlet in South Africa, we deserve to have as much access to its financial information as they publish of others.
It makes no sense for News24 to claim that the public has a right to financial statements of influential institutions in the public sphere, but then not to reveal its own finances to the same extent, given that News24 is indeed an influential institution in the public sphere.

🚨 IRAN IS RAPIDLY INCREASING ITS EXECUTION OF CIVILIANS AMID REGIONAL CONFLICT
Iran is rapidly increasing its execution of civilians as the Iran-U.S. conflict continues, with human rights monitors raising urgent alarms across the Islamic Republic.
Inside Tehran and Isfahan detention facilities, political detainees are systematically subjected to mock executions, severe abuse, and the complete denial of legal counsel. Following the recent hanging of two young defendants linked to the Isfahan anti-regime protests, 10 remaining co-defendants now face imminent execution. Rights activists warn that the regime is intentionally using heightened regional instability as an operational smokescreen to accelerate its brutal crackdown on domestic dissent.
