Russian shelling severely damaged Valentyn’s home in Kharkiv region, leaving it exposed to rain, wind & cold. Thanks to @eu_echo 🇪🇺, UNHCR is helping families repair homes and get ready for winter. For Valentyn, these repairs made it possible to live at home again.
Registration➡️the first 1st step👣towards empowerment!
For refugees, it opens doors to documentation, legal aid, health, education + other essential services
It is🔑for people to exercise their rights + build greater self-reliance.
Thank you @ECHO_MiddleEast!
@UNHCRgov
We welcomed @ECHO_MiddleEast 🇪🇺 to UNHCR’s Registration Centre in Baghdad and met with refugees.
ECHO’s support helps UNHCR and partners provide registration, documentation, and legal assistance, enabling refugees and asylum-seekers to access protection and exercise their rights

Meeting Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband in London today was a powerful reminder of what refugee protection can make possible.
The UK gave his family safety as they fled Nazi persecution. It also gave me asylum when I needed it most. We know first-hand that refuge can be both life-saving and life-changing.
Seventy-five years after helping shape the Refugee Convention, we discussed how the UK can partner with UNHCR to uphold its legacy around the world — strengthening international protection, ending long-term displacement and supporting the countries that generously host refugees.
