"Kill your local rapist" ppl when it's actually time to kill rapists.
Gavin Newsom has spared the lives of all 548 prisoners on California’s death row. It is the largest mass commutation of death sentences in modern U.S. history.

it's wild to hear the same people say: - sports aren't important - there aren't that many trans girls so the impact is small - but trans girls will kill themselves if they can't play on the girls team like, it just isn't a coherent set of beliefs

OK let’s imagine that! $500M would fund Medicare for exactly 4 hours. Hospital closed by lunch. Medicare costs us $1.2T a year. Thats $2.7B per day. You people literally have no clue how anything works. You elect people who are financially illiterate, and everything gets worse.
Imagine if Elon's $500 million had been spent on education or healthcare. Or the arts. Anything.

We aren’t doing this bullshit anymore where we continue to pretend like things your side openly celebrates aren’t actually happening.
far be it from me to discourage soul-searching, but if you actually believe the Democrats are "dedicated to crushing White men as its core belief" you might want to start with your brain.

This has destroyed the reputation of academia more generally. Yes, studies do show that trans women have no athletic advantage, and literally everybody knows that is false, and so when a University releases a study showing that, we question the very nature of this research and the people doing it.
Again, studies show that trans women do not have a biological athletic advantage after a period of time on HRT, but it is literally impossible to get even a liberal cis person to even entertain that possibility.

India did pro-capitalist reforms and immediately became richer than sub-Saharan Africa, which they were poorer than until the early 2000s. It's insane how good capitalism is.

I think the most egregious of all Wikipedia articles has been the on-again-off-again piece on race and intelligence that was locked down by its activist editors and then spoke with great confidence about how the scientific evidence had discredited hereditarians despite the fact that expert surveys (polling mostly left-leaning researchers) found quite the opposite to be true.
Wikipedia may be the Web's greatest accomplishment, but it is not infallible, and in several hot-button issues, it has been captured by activists. One of the most egregious is its rewriting of "Zionism" after 10/7: quillette.substack.com/p/how…

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

He's missing the idea of Libertarian healthcare, entirely, lol. We had libertarian healthcare and it was *orders of magnitude* cheaper. The government shut it down. You were able to purchase a plan with a doctor network who had all of the hardware you needed to keep you healthy. Doctors with MRI, CT, X-ray, chemical testing, blood testing, etc. partnered. The types of doctors and techs would partner, as well, so if you needed specialized surgery? It was included. You could pay them a fee for yearly care plus a $25/visit fee. Not per test, but per visit. Don't use it? You're only out the yearly fee. That fee? About $200/yr in the early 1990s. The per capita expenditures for the government-backed insurance system in 1990? $2566 with personal healthcare expenditures of $2255 per person. The average person goes to the doctor fewer than three times per year. So 10 TIMES cheaper than the government solution. And you had better care. The networks were partnering for emergency care outside of the area and could work across state lines. So what happened to it? The government shut this down because it was "acting as insurance," which doctors are prohibited from doing. These weren't hospital groups, these were doctors working with their own equipment and their own practices. The government forced certificate of need, reducing the number of private practices. They force private practices into hospital groups. They forced additional administration overhead (50% higher as a proportion of healthcare spending, more than 10x higher nominally). You're paying more for worse, less personal care versus the libertarian solution. Libertarians don't have three ambulance companies show up and you select one. You select your healthcare networks and they work it out on the back end for who picks you up and how to handle the pay. And if people don't like the system that's there? They can make their own superior one. There's actual competition. Versus right now where you're literally not even allowed to compete because the government says your healthcare is a natural monopoly and they can decide how much you should be paying for it. They decided it should involve record profits, even inflation-adjusted, consistently for the last 30 years. Since 1980, let's look at the healthcare costs, inflation-adjusted, shall we? Hopspital care is up 2.8x Physicians and clinics are up 4.1x Prescriptions (which are the most futzed with by government) are up 6.8x Nursing homes and home health up 3.8x Dental is up 4.4x Insurer overhead (which is DIRECTLY required by the government) is up 5.9x Government program administration up 4.1x Public health is up 4.3x Research and construction is up 2.0x All health spending is up 3.6x So, the hospital care being up 2.8x? The government numbers don't break it out, so let's look at the studies, like Himmelstein, Campbell, and Woolhandler (2020) showing 34.2% of *all national health expenditures* are to administrative overhead. That's a more than 3x increase, inflation adjusted, from 1983. So the biggest increase for hospital costs directly come from the government. The government has never helped costs. It literally cannot, as it's a middle man.
Libertarian healthcare sounds fucking incredible. Imagine getting shot, bleeding out on the sidewalk, and three ambulance companies competing for your business. If you die before selecting one, an Austrian economist can explain how that was your revealed preference.

Before social media, there were constraints on what ordinary people felt they could safely say out loud because anonymity usually wasn't possible and saying the wrong thing could result in social ostracization or loss of status among your neighbors, friends and co-workers. But even then there were always outsiders or weirdos or troublemakers, and everyone in your community knew who they were, and these people were often the butt of jokes (sometimes affectionate and sometimes not). These weirdos were isolated from one another by both distance and opportunity. And they couldn't find and join instant communities like they can today on social media, where they could finally say aloud (under protection of a pseudonym) what they really believed, and get those views reinforced by likeminded cranks and weirdos. Before social media, an ordinary person could drift through life and only rarely encounter such people. Now they are thrust in your face by algorithms every day.

ORE is up 50% in October and BTC down 10% Most people still don't know what it is or how to mine, it takes 1 minute: 1. Pick tiles - don't try to guess by picking 1-2 tiles, the more you pick the less risk you take 2. Choose how much SOL to put in 3. Hit deploy Every round has a bonus pool called the motherlode currently worth 101.8 ORE ($14.6K). in addition to mining ORE on the grid, every round you mine is a chance to open the motherlode.
