Ledger users aren't waking up to drained wallets and nothing even close to that has been reported.
Its recently sold ledgers in Southeast Asia from 1 vendor, and 1 chain reseller in Europe. There isn't some sleeper switch being flipped, it's a supply chain issue with rogue resellers, buy direct.
The fear mongering is out of control, go walk around a Target or something next time you feel the urge.
While it's fun to start over on a fresh WoW server, seeing everyone running around the starter zone...
It's not something we haven't done before 15 times and I expect the allure of the WoW forever launch to be gone in a week myself.

You will be raidlogging by week 4. There will be no 200v200 like on beta. You will march behind players that have already done the content and copy their strats.
The sweats will be 60 in 3 days max this time. Groups of them. (the new level meta is 6mans)
Everything will be solved, you won't stumble upon anything yourself, you WILL look everything up including your spec.
Sad really.
For the people trying "classic wow" for the first time, more power to you... Enjoy the first 20 or so levels (the most fun part) and don't be afraid to pull the plug once it starts feeling like a job (it will)
The wonder and exploration and all that fun stuff won't be a thing on launch. You will simply go to where everyone else is, collect your goy token and move on to the next quest where there is another bundle of players.
MMORPG gaming is effectively dead and WoW killed it.
