Nick Cannon divorced Mariah Carey. In the deal, she agreed to pay his travel and hotel when he visits their twins
Then he had 10 more kids with 5 other women
In the video below, he explains why he left: "The husband I became was Mr. Mariah Carey"
April 2008. They marry at her estate in the Bahamas. She's about a decade older and one of the best selling artists alive
April 30, 2011. The twins are born on their third anniversary
December 2014. He files for divorce
Asked to name the reasons, the first word out of his mouth: "Financially"
Asked if he felt he didn't deserve her: "Absolutely. 100%." "This is someone that is out of my league"
The settlement, per TMZ in 2016:
The twins live mainly with Mariah
He puts $5,000 a month into a trust for them
When he visits, she pays his travel and lodging
She signs a 2012 Ferrari over to him
Neither can let the kids call a new partner "mom" or "dad"
Their incomes in the filing: him $2.7 million a year, her $6.3 million
February 2017. His third child is born. Between June 2021 and December 2022 he has 8 more. Total: 12 kids with 6 women
His explanation, in the same video: he wanted to prove he could provide for a lot of people, "because for so much time I didn't have to"
Do the math. In the marriage he made less than half of what she did. In 6 years after it, he went from 2 kids to 12
The case for Nick: he says he went to therapy, still loves her, and calls himself "the low functioning individual" in his relationships
Could you stay married to someone who makes more than double what you make, or would it eat at you too?

I don't think it is a problem of "more". Most guys who get R30k wouldn't mind a woman who earns R40k. There is very little lifestyle exposure differences you two have.
The issue comes when she is earning R100k and you earn R30k. The R130k lifestyle you will both live is dependent on her.
Not many men and women know how to manage that dynamic. Especially with our patriarchal society. Even if you find the most woke girl, we are still products of our environment. And we don't live in isolation.

The narrative that #SouthAfrica "lost" Formula 1 to Rwanda is a misinterpretation of how the global F1 calendar operates.
1. F1 Timelines: We Aren't Even Competing for the Same Years. Rwanda’s deal is a long-term play targeting the early 2030s for a completely brand-new, purpose-built circuit in Bugesera. Meanwhile, 🇿🇦’s immediate focus is targeting a slot much sooner—specifically 2028 or 2029. 🇿🇦’s bid committee is actively moving forward with corporate backing to secure an earlier date.
2. The "One Continent, One Race" Fallacy
The idea that Africa can only host a single Grand Prix is an outdated double standard.
• Europe hosts 9 races.
• The Middle East hosts 4 races.
• The United States alone hosts 3 races.
Formula 1 Management (FOM) has a massive, rapidly expanding global audience. An entire continent of 54+ countries can absolutely sustain more than one race. Rwanda entering the calendar simply breaks the ice for Africa’s return; it doesn't lock the door for others.
3. South Africa Already Has the Infrastructure Core. Rwanda is building its multi-billion dollar project entirely from scratch. South Africa, by contrast, has multiple highly viable, active options:
• The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit: Already holds an FIA Grade 2 certification & has approved, ready-to-go design plans to upgrade to Grade 1 status.
• The Cape Town Private Bid: The BMR Consortium recently reaffirmed its commitment to a privately funded R6.7 billion motorsport precinct targeted for 2031, citing Cape Town's unmatched existing tourism & airport infrastructure.
4. South Africa's Commercial and Corporate Muscle. Unlike bids reliant entirely on state funding, South Africa's approach leverages massive private sector appetite. The current bid has already brought heavy-hitting corporate sponsors to the table—including MTN, Discovery, Betway, and Canal+. F1 is a commercial sport, and South Africa's broadcasting weight and domestic market size remain incredibly lucrative to Liberty Media.

On behalf of the government and people of South Africa, I offer warm congratulations to His Excellency President @PaulKagame and the government and people of Rwanda on securing a 10-year agreement to host the Formula 1 African Grand Prix.
South Africa shares in the pride with which Rwanda is preparing to fly the chequered flag for our continent with the hosting of a globally prestigious event at the planned Bugesera circuit from the early 2030s.
This contract is a recognition of the capabilities of the Rwandan nation and of our continent more broadly.
As host of the first Grand Prix on African soil in 1993, and organiser of other major global events, South Africa will be happy to provide any support we may be invited to share.
The F1 African Grand Prix is another lustrous addition to Rwanda’s growing collection of top international events, including the UCI-classified Tour du Rwanda cycling race.
Congratulations, Rwanda.
You are in pole position to make all of Africa proud and take motorsport to new heights.
