Also, because the money passes through the parents' hands first, it's a constitutional "circuit breaker" that makes it legal. Sadly.
Let's say the private company gets 10 percent. That's almost $35 million – a lot of money. I would bet the vendors are donating to Reynolds and lobbying the Republicans to get a piece of the action. It's the privatized medicaid-ification of education.
Not only that, but at least one senator (Brad Zaun) has written a newsletter saying that well-off families could pay the full tuition and bank the voucher payments for college.
