Tom Granot started writing code when he was 12. Today he barely writes it at all. He spends his time helping deep tech founders figure out how to sell what their engineers built, and making YouTube videos about it.
@TomGranot, Founder of Syntax GTM, started as an engineer, built marketing from scratch at an early-stage deep tech startup, and now advises technical founders on go-to-market. He has strong opinions about Israel's B2B marketing scene, and he shares most of them here. Founders spend months selling a message they never tested. Marketers spread themselves across too many channels. And Israel, for all its engineering talent, still has no reliable way to train people who can sell deep tech, which is why so many startups hire an American marketer as soon as they close an A.
Yoel and Tom also get into why Americans write better copy, how Israelis and Americans use AI differently, and Tom's theory that WhatsApp groups help explain why Israel is one of the heaviest per capita users of Claude.

The most controversial interview I did. We ripped up a lot of industry players and leaders.
We held back nothing in this conversation with @TomGranot

What if ONE person could control a swarm of drones?
Aviv Shapira from @XTEND_XR explains how multiple drones can run under one operating system, execute complex moves. Yes! Even through a window and how AI is changing what’s possible with ethics and human control staying in the loop.

Bessemer Venture Partners has a $4 billion fund and can lead rounds of up to $150 million. @ArielSterman says that in Israel, the firm still does most of its investing at the very start, with about 60% of its Israeli investments made at the founding stage.

After years of investing in Israeli tech, @michaelfertik of @VerdictCap set up a team in Israel. The differences he ran into were mostly administrative, and relatively minor.
What’s the biggest difference you’ve seen between working with Israeli and American teams?

Dr. David Leitner, founder of Rhydlwood, sees strategy as getting from where you are today to the outcome you want. Along the way, you decide where your energy goes, which milestones matter, and what to turn down.
In his conversation with Yoel Israel, @DrDLeitner recommended founders review tactics every week, objectives every month, and their overall strategy every quarter. He also walked through Rhydlwood’s RAM framework. Each team member gets clear responsibilities, the authority to make certain decisions on their own, and metrics to measure success, which keeps work from piling up on the founder’s desk.
Dr. D learned much of this firsthand. In 2001, he was seriously injured during IDF training and was later diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome. Living with chronic pain forced him to choose carefully where his energy goes each day, and he now teaches founders to apply that same discipline to their companies.

Boomi Adds Elementary Data to Its Israeli Portfolio in $40-45M Deal
@boomi, whose platform connects data and applications for more than 30,000 customers, has acquired Israeli startup Elementary Data for roughly $40-45 million in cash and stock. Boomi previously bought Rivery and Lunar dev, and Elementary fits alongside them. Rivery handles data integration, Lunar dev gives AI agents governed access to company systems, and Elementary monitors whether the data flowing through all of it is reliable.
@ElementaryData was co-founded by CEO @maayansa_ and CPTO @oravidov, both Unit 8200 veterans. Before Elementary, Salom led incident response work at Sygnia, and Avidov was director of engineering at Singular. The company launched in 2022 with an open-source tool that flags bad data early, before it ends up in a report, a model, or an AI agent’s decision. The company says more than 1,500 data teams use it, with over 1.1 million downloads a month. Customers include Fiverr and Patagonia.
Salom’s view is that data engineering has long lagged behind software engineering on reliability tools, and AI has made closing that gap far more pressing. A wrong number on a dashboard tends to get caught by a person. An AI agent acting on that same number can repeat the mistake many times before anyone steps in.
Elementary raised $8.5 million from TLV Partners, Cowboy Ventures, Y Combinator, and angel investors. All 17 employees are based in Israel and are moving over to Boomi, which intends to grow its Israeli presence considerably. The open-source project stays in place under Boomi, with no immediate changes planned.
Built in Israel, Scaled in the US
@KiraRadinsky, Co-Founder and CTO of @DiagnosticRobo, had already immigrated once. Then the company outgrew the Israeli market, and she packed up and moved again, this time to the United States.
Diagnostic Robotics is now profitable and acquiring other companies. Kira says doing that from Israel, across time zones and without in-person relationships, would have been extremely challenging.
When is the right time for an Israeli startup to move to the US?

AI is changing how finance teams work, and fast. ERB Proximo's Sharon Gelbaum-Shpan (Partner and CMO), and Yafit Keret (CPA, CFO and CEO), sat down with Yoel to discuss what that means for the people leading those teams. Which skills still matter most, where technology gives CFOs a real edge, and why the strongest finance leaders will need both deep business judgment and the right tools to keep up.
If you’re a CFO, a founder working closely with one, or anyone curious about where finance is heading, don't miss this one.
Thanks again to Sharon and Yafit for taking the time after your incredible event on Thursday to speak with us.

Paul Gladstone of @WadiDigital and Talk with the Scot shares his two most important meeting rules. Be on time, and know why you’re there. Paul sees lateness as a signal that you don’t value the other person’s time. And if you have nothing to contribute to a meeting, he says you’re better off skipping it.
Which of these do you see broken more often?

Thank you ERB Proximo for hiring @IsraelTech to cover your exclusive brunch of Finance in Tech experts.
The CFO role is changing rapidly with technology and must be rapidly incorporated and leveraged.
CFOs are some of the most influential people in Israeli tech. They shape when companies raise, how they grow, and whether they make it through a hard year. But they mostly stay behind the scenes.
This morning we spent time with some of Israel’s top CFOs at an exclusive brunch hosted by ERB PROXIMO at the Norman Tel Aviv and had the chance to bring them in front of the curtain. We filmed a highlight reel and interviewed several of the finance leaders at the event.
Stay tuned for the videos coming soon!
Thank you to ERB PROXIMO for having us and a special thank you to @HillaBrenner for all of the support.

Diagnostic Robotics can predict which patients will deteriorate and recommend the best next step, using almost 60 billion historical patient claims.
@KiraRadinsky, Co-Founder and CTO, explains that the harder part was reaching those patients. The company now uses AI voice agents to call them, connect them with the right doctor, and get medications to their homes, supporting almost 28 million patients a month through US health plans.
Would you be comfortable getting a call from an AI agent about your health?

In 2002, Google removed layers of management to cut costs and move faster. It backfired, and within months the managers started coming back.
Paul Gladstone of @WadiDigital and Talk with the Scot explains how Google later used Project Oxygen to study its strongest managers. The ones who stood out coached their teams, gave them room to work, and set clear expectations.

New olim trying to break into Israeli tech should start with an updated LinkedIn profile.
Once you do, Helena Baker says to then reach out to a couple of people a day in your field, at companies similar to your last one. Open with something about them, share that you’ve just made aliyah, and make it easy to say yes by offering three specific times to meet.
What helped you build your network in Israel?
