FLASHBACK — Republican Paul Weyrich (co-founder of the Heritage Foundation & ALEC): “I don’t want everybody to vote… our leverage in elections goes up as the voting populace goes down.”
They’ve been saying it out loud for years.

We’d love to know what these two are saying. We bet Challa (the big one) has a few good stories to share!
Both elephants are living wild, but their backgrounds could hardly be more different. Twenty-two-year-old Challa was orphaned as a calf and latched onto a herd of cows for company. He grew up at our Nursery and then our Ithumba Unit, raised by our Keepers until he was ready to go wild. Little Mambo, meanwhile, has only ever known a wild life. His mother, Mutara, was an orphan like Challa. We returned her to the wild, where she went on to start a family (Mambo is the eldest of her two calves).
Now multi-generational herds live in Tsavo, and it all started with a rescue. Help make more stories like this possible: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org

A new cancer vaccine could reach patients as soon as 2027.
Moderna and Merck have announced that their personalized cancer vaccine, intismeran autogene, succeeded in a phase 3 trial of 1,137 people with high-risk melanoma.
Each dose is made from scratch for a single patient. Doctors sequence the patient's tumor, find the mutations that make it different from healthy tissue, and build an mRNA vaccine that trains the immune system to hunt cells carrying those exact flags.
Given alongside the immunotherapy drug Keytruda, it significantly lowered the chance of the cancer returning or spreading compared with Keytruda alone.
Phase 3 is the final stage of testing before approval, and this is the first time a personalized mRNA cancer vaccine has cleared it. In an earlier, smaller trial, the combination cut the risk of recurrence or death by 49% over five years.
The companies haven't released exact phase 3 figures, and survival data aren't in yet, but they're now talking to regulators. Moderna says patients could receive it as early as 2027 if reviews go well.

THIS IS PETE. Pete leads the largest federal department — Defense. Pete caused quite a stir earlier this year when he said the military has “lowered its standards” so that women can join. And then, he revealed he doesn’t think women should be allowed to vote. PERIOD.
Yes, you read that right: in the year 2026, the man sixth in line to be president doesn’t believe more than half the country should be able to vote.
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Hegseth made this revelation by reposting and praising a video interview of a self-described “Christian nationalist pastor.” whose church doesn't believe women shouldn't be allowed to vote.
In it, Doug Wilson, senior pastor of Christ Church in Idaho, said, "Women are the kind of people that people come out of."
A fellow pastor also said that families should vote as a household, with the husband and father casting the vote.
LET’S BE CLEAR: Not only is Pete the least qualified person to EVER run the US Dept. of Defense (shoutout to Donald for putting him there!) — he admitted to having FIVE affairs during his first marriage, he’s currently on his third, and has more than a dozen abuse and sexual assault allegations against him.
Don’t believe “the news”⁉️ Take it from his own mother, who wrote in an April 2018 email to her son ⤵️
“You are an abuser of women — that is the ugly truth and I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around, and uses women for his own power and ego. You are that man (and have been for years).”

Courts ruled it illegal. He's still blocking the money.

As a key conductor of the Underground Railroad, Harriet Tubman returned to Maryland’s Eastern Shore over the course of 13 expeditions – heroically guiding more than 70 enslaved people to freedom during some of the darkest times in our nation’s history.
Today, nearly 125 miles of her path, stops, and stories have been preserved through the Harriet Tubman Byway. As a member of the House Natural Resources Committee, I joined the Maryland Park Service, Mayor Lajan Cephas Bey, and our state and local partners to walk through the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center and the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. We will continue collaborating to fund, tell the complete story, and expand access to Maryland’s rich history, natural treasures, and the stories of our state's most impactful sons and daughters for generations to come.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's senior adviser on religious issues, Ryan Higgins, has said the “Separation of Church and State does not exist," railed against “the satanic cult of LGBTQ,” criticized gay adoption as “buying babies,” told women that "No ‘career’ will ever give you the fulfillment you’re looking for that can only be found from being a mother,” and compared abortion to the Holocaust, posting it was like “saying Nazi concentration camps were ethnic end-of-life care.”
Sources say Higgins has played a role in shaping some of Hegseth's most incendiary remarks on faith and religion, and is now a key player in the newly announced Office of Religious Affairs at the Pentagon.
