I once unexpectedly sat directly behind Patrick Stewart in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, watching a random Shakespeare play. He was with friends so I didn't want to intrude and say hello, but you could tell that he loved the theatre, and the art of acting. And the people he was with. There was a warmth and humanity to him that was palpable even to a stranger. He brought that to so many of his roles. I remember an Honest Trailers video about Star Trek TNG ... "watch world class actor Patrick Stewart remain fully committed to his dialogue even when the writers clearly fell asleep on their keyboards ..." 😂 I don't think it is going too far to say that Patrick Stewart's gravitas kept Star Trek alive. I remember him on the bridge in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. In the wheelchair in X-Men. In his chair in Star Trek. And giving a standing ovation to some young actors in Stratford-upon-Avon. Not for clicks or the fame, but for the love of his art. Rest In Peace, Sir Patrick.
