The symptoms of acute MI (including OMI) are identical to the symptoms of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux). Never assume that "heartburn," hiccups, etc. are due to acid without getting an ECG (and troponin)!! AND you can be fooled by a trial of antacids or "GI cocktail."
🚨A strange case of OMI! 50-year-old patient presented to the OPD with just constant "BELCHING and HICCUPS"🤢 OPD prescribed antacids, but after no improvement in symptoms an EKG was done which can be seen below. Sadly by that time he had lost a significant amount of myocardium. A lesson on how variable ACS presentations can be.
