Neal Lawson is one of those people who discovers with surprise and dismay what half the country knew a year before.
"He promised change, he promised something very different from Keir Starmer, & if he doesn't deliver eventually something very different from Keir Starmer then he's going to be in trouble"

Proud to announce that students in England will be able to study Ukrainian at GCSE.
It’s a chance for pupils to explore Ukraine’s rich culture and history and, for the Ukrainian community to remain connected to their heritage.
This is another step in our enduring support for Ukraine as part of the 100 Year Partnership 🇺🇦🇬🇧

Really poor journalism from @vicderbyshire this, and Bernie Sanders rightfully pushed back, despite Victoria trying to move on quickly. But why is she doing this? I suspect it’s instructions from her bosses. So the question no is why are we still doing this nonsense

“No more military aid to the extremist government in Israel… what they’ve done to the Palestinians is genocidal…” Bernie Sanders tells BBC Newsnight.
The presenter is quick to interject that “the Israeli government would deny they’re extremist…”
Why are we still doing this?

The only thing wrong with the egg is that it came out of a chicken.
If an egg grew on a bush, it would be the most expensive item in the health shop: 13 vitamins, choline for the brain, DHA for the eyes, complete protein, in a biodegradable pack, and it would be a superfood by lunchtime.
If beef dripping came from a seed, it would be in a dark glass bottle at the price of a good olive oil, with a label about stability and a chef on the front.
If raw milk came from an almond, Scotland would never have banned it, and it would be in a carton with a leaf on, at 3 times the price of the thing it is.
If bone broth came from a bean, it would be the January cleanse, and the collagen, the glycine and the gelatine would be on the front in 3 languages.
If lard came from an avocado, it would be on sourdough at cafe prices, and somebody would have written a book.
If a lamb's kidney came from a tree, it would be sold dried in a sachet as an adaptogen.
If cream came from an oat, it would be the heart-healthy option, and the advert would have a cyclist in it.
If cheese were fermented from a cashew, it would be artisanal, and the cashew version is, at twice the price, with half the protein and none of the calcium.
If butter were pressed from a nut, the doctor would recommend it for the vitamin K2 and the butyrate, and the margarine would be the thing he warned you about.
Every one of those foods has the nutrients, the history and the track record. What it lacks is a plant to have come from.
The plant gets the halo. The animal gets the warning.
Same egg. Wrong parent.

Dan Hodges says Israel supporters like him need to reflect.
This is a man who said Palestinian kids can just go to hell.
Dan now realises the US is going to turn on Israel.
That Gaza will be recorded as an abomination.
And that he will be damned.

Andy Burnham's saying he can't help with the cost of living until the Iran and Ukraine wars are over? Has he considered just not giving our £10 billion to Ukraine? Because that would help an awful lot of us.

Don't listen the UK liberal establishment on Israel and 'anti semitism' when the US democrats have just proven that being anti-zionist is a vote winner

This meltdown is glorious!
The bad news keeps piling up. What happened in America last night is a catastrophe. Take AIPAC’s worst nightmares, double them, and you still don’t get close.
The only consolation is that Abdul El-Sayed won his Senate seat by a smaller margin than expected. Will the Democrats learn that anti-Israel politics and antisemitism cost you votes? I doubt it. And a great many Jews voted for him anyway.
It’s getting worse. First the Democrats blamed Israel for America’s troubles: grocery prices, America’s slipping standing, the war with Iran.
Now, with JD Vance’s tweet and Donald Trump Jr.’s share, the Republicans are blaming Israel for the Republican Party’s troubles. Vance’s message: we stuck too close to Israel.
That is far more dangerous. Israel now faces its biggest challenge in Washington since at least the 1975 “reassessment,” when Ford and Kissinger froze arms deals to pressure Jerusalem.
There’s only one answer I know of: a national unity government. Flirting with a new election, a minority government propped up by the Arab parties, or a deal with the Haredim would be a grave mistake.

This is the same Labour Government letting B52 bombers take off from British soil to bomb Iran - while people here at home pay the price of Trump's illegal war in spiking energy prices.
Warm words about ending the war won't cut it - Burnham must end the UK's participation.

I said before, in a way Trump being elected was necessary. It was like a great big purulent boil coming to a head and bursting.
There is lots of icky stuff that needs cleaning up.
But boy, it will feel better afterwards.

Seed oils are in your crisps. Fried in a vat of the stuff, nobody is surprised, carry on.
Seed oils are in your chips. Same vat. No notes.
Seed oils are in your mayonnaise, which is at least honest, since mayonnaise is oil with an egg for company.
Seed oils are in your bread. Every loaf. Flour, water, yeast, salt, and a slug of rapeseed nobody asked for. Bread managed 6,000 years without it.
Seed oils are in your hummus. It was chickpeas. It is now chickpeas and rapeseed, with a painting of an olive on the front doing the lying.
Seed oils are in your tin of sardines, drowning the one good thing left in the cupboard. The fish came out of the sea perfectly oiled. They added more.
Seed oils are in the "olive oil", topped up with the cheap stuff and sold at the olive price, which the rest of the world calls fraud.
Seed oils are in the healthy aisle, which is now the greasiest aisle in the shop.
Seed oils are in the baby formula. The first meal a human ever eats, and it is already 40% sunflower and soy. We start them young.
Seed oils are in the drip. Too ill to eat, so they run soybean oil into your vein, and nobody reads you the label because you are unconscious.
Then the clever bit.
Seed oils are in the chicken and the pork, because we feed it to them, and an animal with one stomach wears its dinner in its own fat.
So there is no swap left. No aisle, no back shelf, no label long enough to get you out.
Except one. Put the same feed in front of a cow and her rumen hydrogenates the lot before a drop of it reaches the steak.
Four stomachs, quietly doing your shopping for you.

It’s really very simple, Eylon.
Normal people don’t enjoy shooting kids in the head.
Or burning toddlers alive.
So accordingly they’ve gone off Israel in a big way.
PS: One day you’re going to end up in prison
It is absolutely demented that one of the reasons Republicans believe they lost the election is because voters wanted “change our relationship to Israel.”
Not because that might not be true, but because America’s strategic partnership with a loyal democratic ally like Israel should not be a subject of political obsession. Especially not when it is the only ally fighting wing to wing with American forces.
We are not the cause of any of your problems. It is impossible to separate any of this from the multi billion dollar disinformation war waged by adversaries of the West to separate America from its ally—and from a history of scapegoating.
Nothing about this present psychotic moment makes sense outside those two contexts.

I USED TO TELL PEOPLE TO EAT ALL THE VEGETABLES THEY WANTED
In December 2017 I made a video on seven low-carb vegetables. At the time I thought you could eat as much of them as you wanted. I fully believed in the magic nutrition in vegetables and fruits.
Over the next four years I dug deep into the research, and I found out I was wrong.
By 2022 I had been virtually plant-free for 3 and 1/2 years. No vegetables, no fruits, and virtually no nuts or seeds. I ate fatty red meat and eggs, with some chicken, pork and seafood now and then. I hadn't developed any vitamin or nutrient deficiencies, and at 53 I felt better than I did in my early 30s.
A good doctor has to be able to admit when he was wrong. I was absolutely wrong about plants.
If you've been eating your vegetables and still feel bad, try 90 days of beef, butter, bacon and eggs and see how you feel.
My video is below.
