PLAYING WITH FORM IS BACK! Episode 7, "The Building Blocks of Life", is now live on all #podcast apps. This one's about composition, plus my version of an essay review. And is it just me, or was 2007-2008 a suspiciously impactful 2 years for game design? ⬇️Link Below⬇️

The last day of Third Coast was lovely. More people than I expected showed an interest in Playing With Form. One dude even listened to it during the conference (an angel, that one). I’m glad to be entering such a supportive community. Also there was a puzzle at the afterparty👌

Day 1 (pre-conference mixer) of Third Coast is done. Crowds got spoops, but I saw some familiar faces, which helped. Many provocations (shown below) set the stage of entry-level radio as several side-hustles to an unprofitable passion. Should I be happy I’m not alone there? 🤔

That's cool cuz 1. Madeline's voice is normally just text sfx, so the human voice has more power by contrast. 2. The whole game is a metaphor for depression and internal conflict, so this just doubles the message down. This video presents it pretty well: youtu.be/rE8diav5I1k

It's that time again~ I'd check your podcast apps tomorrow. You may come across something fun.

First off, in this tool-assisted speedrun of Final Fantasy, the commentators manage to explain all the little details of the discipline, how to manipulate "random" chance, and the similarity of TASing to existing art forms. youtu.be/TIjJ3Ukcg_4 17:30 is especially nice.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Audio is a recent passion of mine, hoping to make it a career one day. The interview is from a convention in 2014, so I can't take credit for that, but I think my clip choice was pretty slick. Link to the original is here: youtu.be/x4HE6fdccjo

Oh hey, is that a completed third episode? Yes it is! My video game #podcast #PlayingWithForm will be on Soundcloud in a few hours. I'll let y'all know when it's up. Get excited, because I really like this one.

"Field recording" for my podcast. Episode 1 of Playing With Form will be live next week! It's gonna be a fun one.

Hi Twitter! Want to listen to something fun? youtube.com/watch?v=9hGDBLZJ… Brad Mehldau and Mark Guiliana playing around with electronic music. My whole family adores this album, and it's been on my mind a lot lately.
