But can we agree that promoting LNG and mineral exports out of a mostly ice-covered port in Churchill using icebreaking, is a lot riskier than sending double hulled oil tankers out of Prince Rupert, which can already accommodate shipping containers that carry 50,000 barrels/8000 m3 of petroleum fuel in their own tanks? Can we agree there are different standards being applied for political, rather than scientific or technical, reasons?

The EU has delivered greater stability across the continent, greater mobility for its citizens, and a single market that gives Europe global economic weight. An honour to hear President von der Leyen address the European Parliament today as we build a deeper partnership for the future.

I'm not an economist so can someone please explain to me how raising interest rates due to rising prices caused by the Iran war will do anything but kick Canadians when they're down? I understand the principle when our economy is growing too fast causing inflation, but this just doesn't make sense to me. globalnews.ca/news/12123982/…

In his Incredibly Awesome Davos Speech, Carney preached that leaders must take the world as it is, not as they wish it to be. Then he turned around and tried to wish Canada into the EU.🤪

BREAKING: the Bank of Canada is raising interest rates, hitting Canadians with higher mortgage and borrowing costs. Mark Carney’s growing Liberal deficits and taxes on fuel only feed the inflationary fire and force these rate hikes. We must control spending and cut taxes to bring down inflation and interest rates, so we can leave more money in Canadians' pockets: conservative.ca/cpc/save-you…

This is ALL Carney's idea. He has literally been at this for over a year, calling EU leaders on the British registered burner phone he still has and uses all the time. wsj.com/world/europe/europea…
Has anyone else noticed that since there has been push back from EU countries like Germany, Italy, and France to Canada getting "associate member" status, Carney's paid media have no begun to frame this whole thing as being all EU president Ursula von der Leyen's idea?

I had to Vote No to the Huge Utility Bill increase because I agree with the Chamber of Commerce that it would SEVERELY impact Calgary Residents and Businesses. I believe we could’ve looked at alternatives like: -Pause the hike until we see if we get some infrastructure support from the Province or Federal government in upcoming budgets. -Stretch out the spending and cost recovery over a longer period of time. -Reduce or Pause some of the Huge projected infrastructure dollars for the Prairie Economic Gateway project -Take the Cities utility dividend and put it into water pipes instead of General Revenue -Sell some Cities assets which are Enormous Sadly the utility hikes passed Council today by a vote of 9 to 6 so now more than ever Council must look at ways to reduce the proposed double digit Property Tax Increase.

Meanwhile in other news another iconic CDN company, High Liner Foods was sold to a Japanese company. No one invests in Canada these days, they just come in like buzzards to pick at the tax ravaged bones.
David Cochrane: Are you worried it could deter some possible investment from coming to Canada? Mélanie Joly: No, serious people abide by the law.

Cabinet’s claim to feed 400,000 children through its National School Food Program is false, according to figures submitted yesterday to MPs, @mindingottawa reports today. Ottawa’s 5-year $1B school food commitment works out to $2.78 per child per school day for 400,000 kids. The cost is really $6.45 per kid due to inflation. Five years would cost $2.32B.

If you repeat it over & over & over again most media won’t question it & will sell the propaganda to the people who believe it. “Two hundred million dollars per year from the federal government represents the equivalent of 22 cents per student per day.”
