Hear me out - A Texan steak layered with Kerala's (India's spice garden) spice complexity.
Riz Ahmed says French cuisine is overhyped because cooking a steak doesn't compare to the complexity of South Asian food “I do feel that French cuisine is, I guess, a little bit overhyped” “It's relatively simpler things that are done executing very well and with care” “Coming from a background where it's about curries slow cooked, intense layering of a dish like nihari, the amount of spices and things going into it, it's just incredible. The flavor profile and the range of things, the time it takes...” “Whereas, not being funny, but a steak, it's a steak” “Like you get the thing, you put it on and the trick is like, oh, 28 seconds or 33, and it's like boom”

21-year-old Iranian twins Taraneh and Romina Rahimi - one sentenced to death, the other to 25 years in prison for protesting their govt - have had their suit alleging torture and threats of rape dismissed and their lawyer jailed. The cousin who helped raise them tells me they now “look to the world to hear their voice.”

Brandon Johnson canceling ShotSpotter is a political blunder on par with Trump’s Iran war. The lesson in both situations is to ignore the extremists in your party.

Thune passed one major bill in 2 years and wants to act like he had a “strong record of accomplishment.” Shameful.

In retrospect do you think Trump should’ve renamed AI to SI or cut taxes, spending, and gas prices?

Everyone will point to tariffs and Iran, and those are the obvious explanations. But a systemic collapse like this can only occur if the edifice has itself become completely rotten, and had been disintegrating within for a long time before any external signs revealed themselves.

This will be the biggest national wipeout for Republicans since 2006, when voters brutally punished the GOP for an ill-advised and poorly planned war in the Middle East.

Trump saw how the other Republican president this century derailed his presidency and destroyed his party with an unpopular pointless war and decided that he’d go ahead and do exactly the same thing

The Iran War will go down as one of the biggest self-inflicted failures in political history… After explicitly running on ending foreign wars and focusing on domestic issues, Iran completely took over Trump’s 2nd term. He has now dramatically increased the odds of handing America to the far-left in 2028.

Looks like foreign aid ran out, so the UN Ambassador opened a Ohio home health agency and got caught.
I can confirm public speculation that Ambassador Abukar Dahir Osman, Permanent Representative of Somalia to the UN and President of the Security Council, is in fact associated with Progressive Health Care Services, a home health agency in Cincinnati. HHS has previously taken action against Progressive in response to a conviction for Medicaid fraud. More to come. @HHSGov

Trump knows in his gut that this would be a strategic policy mistake, but decision makers in the White House should understand that a proactive decision to initiate massive escalation (or greenlight it) would be seen as an unforgivable betrayal by millions of American voters.

A huge part of Trump’s support with the American people has been due to his leadership in providing real national security (and peace) by rejecting the failed approach of the uniparty in Washington that is advocating for massive escalation against Iran.

Our ward boundaries seem like a nightmare for actual basic governance. How do you effectively plan infrastructure/maintenance or local economic development with geographies like this. We gotta retire these.
Who let them draw the ward map like this, it’s hilariously ridiculous

My brutally honest advice to someone who wants to make a lot of money. 3 things nobody told you: 1. The only way to make a lot of money is to create a lot of value. No one hands out money. No one is going to pay you just because they like you or think you're cool. Money earned is a direct byproduct of value created. The only way to get rich is to create an enormous amount of value for others, and capture a small portion of that along the way. You create value by doing three things: - Identify problems - Create solutions - Scale those solutions It's not talking about the thing, it's not brainstorming about the thing, it's not asking about the thing, it's not thinking about the thing. The only way to create value is by doing the thing. And if you don't know where to start, look around you. Customers, colleagues, bosses, shareholders, employees. Every single one of them has a problem. What problems can you solve for the people around you? Figure them out, solve them, scale that solution. That's how you make money. 2. You don't need passion, you need energy. I still have no idea what it means to follow your passion. You don't have to be passionate about your professional pursuits, you just need to find energy in them. You just need to feel a pull towards them. You just need to feel that spark of curiosity in them. Passion is usually a byproduct of energy. When you have energy for something, you'll give it your deep attention to learn more. You’ll ask the right questions. You’ll figure it out. You’ll win. Follow your energy. Pursue interesting puzzles. Solve them. 3. You have to demonstrate excellence in everything you do. Your income scales proportional to the amount of excellence that you're able to demonstrate. Strategic incompetence is a lie. You don't get to pick and choose when to show up, because the world will ignore your best and judge you for your worst. Everything matters. Every single thing. Top performers show up with energy and enthusiasm for the little things just as much as they do for the big things. If you're in the top-10% of performers, there's no ceiling for what you can do. But the self-awareness to identify where you currently stack up, and adapt to the honest feedback on it, is very rare. If you're in the top-10%, you know it. If you're not, figure out why and fix it.
