"Are you going to stop crying tonight?" "Probably not."
Young fan Liam Renteria represents most Milwaukee faithful in the state of Wisconsin after the #Brewers made history on Wednesday night, clinching their first-ever World Series title.
Did I happen to mention I'm a Brewers fan?

Some people help write history. Margaret Hamilton helped write the software that got us there 🌖
Today we learned that Margaret Hamilton, one of the true pioneers of computing and software engineering, has passed away at the age of 90.
Last year I made this video about the Apollo Guidance Computer, and especially about Margaret and the incredible team she led at MIT. It feels appropriate to share it again tonight in her honor.
During Apollo 11’s descent to the Moon, the Guidance Computer suddenly began throwing the now-famous 1201 and 1202 alarms. It was overloaded at one of the worst possible moments.
But it didn’t simply crash.
The software Hamilton and her team had designed recognized what was happening, discarded lower-priority work, and kept the tasks necessary to land the Lunar Module running.
That wasn’t luck. That was engineering.
Margaret helped pioneer ideas like fault-tolerant software, asynchronous processing and priority scheduling at a time when “software engineering” itself was barely recognized as a discipline. She fought to change that too.
We remember the astronauts because they walked on the Moon. We should also remember the engineers who made sure the computers could get them there.
Margaret Hamilton was one of the greatest. I am always deeply honored when someone tells me I resemble her, which is a regular occurrence ☺️
Rest in peace, Margaret. And thank you for helping humanity make one giant leap 🌙💻

There’s absolutely 0% chance the brewers are winning the central by 10 games btw

Because this Nashville road game was an MiLB "Free Game of the Day" the full archive is preserved for all time at this link. Bottom of the 9th begins at the 03:06:00 hour/minute mark. Kudos to longtime Durham broadcaster @PatrickKinas for the enthusiasm! milb.com/live-stream-games/g…

hello @SEGA. i find it deeply disturbing that your brand's likeness and music was used to turn inhumane treatment of real people into "games".
i will not be spending money on your brand until i see this removed and every like on this post is someone committing to doing the same.

Hi Seattle/Seatac/Port of Seattle/Airport shuttles! I need some advice, please! On Friday night between 9:00 - 9:30ish I was at Island 3a at SeaTac and one of my suitcases wandered off while I was trying to figure out how to get my kids home safely and legally after West Jet left a car seat in Calgary. In the suitcase was a t-shirt of my brother's who died in 2022. It is one of my only momentos. I am hoping a shuttle driver accidentally picked it up thinking it belonged to someone else and that it is sitting in some lost & found. The problem is I have no idea which shuttle it could be and don't know where to begin. I filed a report with SeaTac and haven't heard that it showed up. Any suggestions? Has something similar happened to anyone else? Where do I start?

Please stop flying your personal drones over wildfires. They can ground or collide with our firefighting aircraft, disrupting time critical firefighting and threatening people’s homes. Your photos are not worth someone’s home.
If you fly, we can’t.

I cannot attend tonight’s game. My oldest dog Wills is not doing well and we are currently at the vet awaiting test results. So if anyone is interested in my ticket for tonight, please email me at [email protected].

Great airline at juxtaposing prices to get in to World Cup games versus actually flying to country.

This is such an important/forgotten point.
College football was built as a regional sport. The big goals were to beat your rival (good year assured), and win your conference (great year assured).
It was understood that a national championship was a fantasy requiring huge luck!
