Step back in time to 1966...
It was the cusp of the Summer of Love, in Studio 1 at Sunset Sound Recorders, where the first “for real” studio recording session for the band happened.
The Doors' 1966 is officially coming for RSD Black Friday pressed on tan vinyl.
Experience a rare, raw look at the band's first formal studio session, featuring unreleased takes, studio chatter, and false starts for "Moonlight Drive" and "Indian Summer."

On this day in 1967, STRANGE DAYS was released, marking a shift in The Doors’ sound.
From “People Are Strange” and “Love Me Two Times” to “Horse Latitudes” and “When the Music’s Over,” the album explored new sounds and recording techniques, including the Moog synthesizer on the title track.
Jim Morrison also asked not to appear on the cover, so photographer Joel Brodsky took to the streets of New York instead.
