There it is, a "public-private partnership"! The way public-private stadium partnerships work is the public partner pays the cost and the private partner keeps the revenue. It's impossible to devote $1.8 billion of public resources without having an impact on the state budget.

Venezuela has one of the largest oil reserves in the world, which makes this U.S. escalation not at all about democracy and everything to do with regime change in an illegal and unconstitutional effort to steal resources and engage in an imperial power grab.
What is clear is that the American people do not want another endless war that costs lives and drains our resources. They do not want our money spent on bloodshed and destruction.
Entering a war with Venezuela is not the decision of the president alone. Congress must step in and fulfill its constitutional responsibility by passing the Venezuela War Powers Resolution now.
We need diplomacy and peace, not endless wars.

The New York Housing Conference warned that affordable housing landlords in New York City need about $1 billion from the mayor to avoid widespread defaults.
It said tens of thousands of the city’s roughly 213,000 subsidized, rent‑stabilized units are losing money after pandemic rent losses and utility increases.
The group said a multi-year rent freeze proposed by Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani could deepen the crisis unless paired with relief for landlords.
