I was curious, so I emailed all 29 county clerks in Utah for their "I Voted" sticker designs for 2026... most counties don't have a special design, but some do, and I like them:

CNN has a bias problem.
But does the White House now have a free press problem?
Tangle founder @Ike_Saul weighs in on Trump’s decision to ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House.

I don’t know about you all, but frankly I’m insulted by the notion that my vote this November could be bought for 5k. Not to mention the inflation this would cause. All things considered, I cannot in good conscience accept a penny less than 10k!
.@POTUS announces the TRUMP DIVIDEND: If Republicans win both the House and the Senate, because of our tremendous economic success, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States for $5,000
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The President of the United States has no constitutional or statutory authority to issue a dividend check on behalf of the US Government. Only the Congress can authorize and appropriate these funds.

This is just so sad.
We elect the government we deserve…
But why do we as citizens accept to elect officials that will put their party of their state? Over their nation? We have to elect better.

🚨 Before Massie’s primary, @CynicalPublius ran a relentless anti-Massie campaign, called him a ‘toxic narcissist,’ his supporters ‘dimwits,’ even linked Massie fans to antisemitism. Turns out he’s Thomas R. Anderson, listed in Pentagon, assigned to a DoD office, the entire time
The national debt is expected to hit a milestone as soon as this week, crossing a major threshold of $40 trillion. to.pbs.org/4ifsapr

I won’t change the filibuster. It protects the rights of the minority in the Senate—even when it’s a minority of one, writes @SenJohnCurtis

Want a politics that isn’t controlled by one party? Feel like neither side represents you? Confused as to why so many elections are decided by so few voters in a primary?
Support Ranked Choice Voting - stop letting the minority choose for you.

What's been worse for the U.S. housing market — a positive demand shock caused by immigration? Or a negative supply shock caused by deportation? Federal & state reports give us both sides of the story.
A federal working paper estimated that for every uptick in “unauthorized immigrant workers” equal to 1% of the local workforce, house prices grew by 2.2% & rental prices by 1.4%, from 2021-2024.
Immigration accounted for a majority of Utah population growth in 2023 & 2024, totaling around 30k individuals each year, contributing to the illegal immigrant population doubling to around 180k.
In 2023, the Migration Policy Institute estimated 58k of Utah’s “unauthorized population” were homeowners.
But a University of Utah study found that this demand shock has been followed by a supply shock as deportations reduce the construction workforce nationwide by 2.7%, or nearly 300k.
The study found that counties that experienced a crackdown in immigration enforcement saw a 5.7% reduction in new single-family homes, translating to a 4.5% increase in new construction prices.

Intentional animal cruelty should never be ignored. I’m asking Utah leaders to support a full review of the Poplar Grove peacock killings. #utpol

In the last 30 days, 30,000+ new readers have joined @TangleNews
We have over 500,000 people signed up for multiple newsletters and should do $6m/year in revenue this year. 70,000+ paid subscribers. We have hired three full-time people in the last month, bringing our team to 15.
The "secret" is simple: Good content. Ideological diversity. Nuance. Elevating strong arguments from smart people on big, divisive topics, offering our own unique analysis, and then letting our audience make up their minds.
Following politics does not have to be sensational rage-bait. It doesn't have to be exhausting. It doesn't have to make you hate other Americans. You *might* have to read a bit, but you can change your mind, expand your views, more earnestly defend your convictions, all without going insane.

A new report from the Pew Research Center says American politics is not as simple as red versus blue.
Pew surveyed more than 10,000 people and split the public into nine distinct groups along political and cultural values. Despite a polarized political environment, the report finds a minority of Americans are truly all-in for either party.
Amna Nawaz (@IAmAmnaNawaz) discussed the findings with Pew's Jocelyn Kiley.
