Heartbroken. An enormous loss for her family and friends, and for the global science and public health community. Thank you @HelenBranswell for your extraordinary reporting, rigor, humanity and commitment to helping the world understand complex issues. 1/2

In other words, so called "sex-specific" effects in the brain and behavior are not what they claim, most of the time. Here's an explainer from the Maney lab: maneylab.org/sex-specific-ef…

Under Biden, FBI, CIA, Dept Energy leaned towards lab origin of covid. People are skeptical of US intel agencies. Ok. Germany's foreign intel service assessed a lab origin with 80-95% certainty. We should ask for at least a redacted assessment so we can put this issue to rest.

Dankje Jop, dat je mijn platform The Long Shot hebt genoemd 🙏

Recently there have been members of the #LongCOVID community on this app who have expressed a significant dislike/dissatisfaction of me generally and the content that I share. A lot of people ask me why I don't respond to these comments, so here is my response: I get it. 1/

This story of scientists in covid-19 times is the result of an investigation that took me five months, tens of interviews and reading piles of documents. Read on and get (disturbingly) surprised: science.org/content/article/… @science_news

Extremely irresponsible reporting. This is a tickborne disease, that is present in some parts of europe, causing a rare but severe disease. Lockdowns are nonsense in this context. Tick protection is gbnews.com/health/britain-lo…

Still looking for one or two academics who have fun or inspiring pre academic (side)job adventures to share in a piece for @NatureCareers. Are you or do you know a person who fits this description? Respond or DM!
For a (light) piece in an international science publication I am looking for scientists who had a funny/interesting/surprisingly relevant (side) job before they started their academic career. Are you or do you know such a person? Let me know!

I spoke to @WHO's new chief scientist @JeremyFarrar about why he decided to take the job, what new technologies the world needs to prepare for and how dangerous #SARSCoV2 remains. Q&A is here (and short thread coming in a bit): science.org/content/article/…
