AI was supposed to be the great equalizer, but instead the bottom quartile barely adopted it while the top quartile became 5x faster.

The amount of effort and intelligence it takes to build a company that makes $250k a year vs $2.5 million a year feels similar. Most times I think people just set modest goals.

The amount of people that think BlackRock owns single-family homes is concerning.

Credit card points don't give you "free" flights if you opted for a point card rather than a cash back card. For example, first class round trip to Asia is about 160k to 240k points. People average 1.3 to 1.6 points per dollar across all spend. Therefore it takes about $138,000 in card spend to reach that. $138,000 in spend on a 2% cash back card would be $2760, or $4140 on a 3% cash back card. So you got a $14k flight at the cost of $3-4k.

With house pricing as high as it is, there’s basically 3 buckets of homeowners: bought before 2021, have a high income job or gifted family money.

Sometimes I wonder how much conglomerates like @ATT could improve both user experience and payroll expenses by making the product intuitive and easy to use. Often times complexity is purposely created in these companies (and government) for job security.

As a Canadian who has lived in America for the last 5 years, I can tell you: Canadians are taught a lot of misinformation about life in America vs Canada.

Sometimes companies give grand job titles in effort to underpay team members. I've seen people with a "VP" title but have less than 20 people in their org. The VP turns a blind eye to the low pay because they like the title.

I've found people treat you better when you dress well. Quality of life just goes up overall. Wearing business attire when flying is something a mentor told me to start doing as soon as I was old enough to fly on my own.

A 2023 C8 Corvette finances at about $1,637 per month for 72 months, totaling $117,864 for a $65,000 car that will depreciate to $40,000 after 72 months. $1600 per month invested at 8% interest would be worth $135,120 after 72 months.

When ending a contract on Upwork, they hit you with a threat. Not a reminder. Not a thank you. A threat. If fear is your retention strategy, the business model’s already broken.
