Have we travelled back in time to 2020?
Apparently not. Last week, Sky celebrated 'International Pronouns Day' by encouraging employees to add their pronouns to Microsoft 365.
Sky's LGBTQ+ staff group helpfully provided examples including:
Ne/Nem/Nir
Xe/Xem
Ze/Zir
Per/Pers
Apparently, this is about creating a workplace where everyone feels “recognised and respected”.
Presumably apart from those who think this is ideological nonsense that has no place in a newsroom?
An important victory for the Darlington nurses, who have spent three years fighting for single-sex changing facilities at work.
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust has finally updated its policy to require staff to use changing rooms according to biological sex.
But will the mainstream media give this story the attention it deserves?

‘Weak leadership combined with ideological capture, perceived prestige for the organisation, and fear had all led to children being harmed.’
Gender ideology has spread like wildfire through the NHS. The casualties: kids and whistleblowers.

The BBC has paid a former member of staff £400,000 after she was bullied out of the corporation for being Jewish.
After October 7, filmmaker Lucie Kon was told by BBC staff that she was "evil" and needed to "consider what drove Hamas to do what they did".

“LGBTQ+ people are being targeted. Our rights, our identities and our existence are being debated and attacked.”
These are the words of a senior legal counsel at Sky, who co-chairs its LGBTQ+ staff group.
According to The Sunday Times, an internal video also attacked “extraordinarily well-funded bigots” campaigning to exclude trans people from sport and shared spaces.
Presumably that includes women campaigning for single-sex spaces and fair sporting categories?
Gender-critical beliefs are protected under the Equality Act. So what message does this send to Sky employees who hold those beliefs?
And what does it tell us about the culture inside one of Britain's biggest news broadcasters?

Interesting column in The Independent from former Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, who appears outraged that Ofcom isn't doing more to regulate GB News.
He suggests that the law shouldn't permit a “right-wing broadcaster”.
But why is he so concerned about alleged right-wing bias at GB News, rather than allegations of left-wing bias at the BBC or Sky News?
And what about The Guardian, which Rusbridger himself has acknowledged is left of centre?
And isn't there a certain irony in making this argument in The Independent - a newspaper that openly embraces 'progressive' values and has itself faced criticism for, erm, not being particularly 'independent'?
Of course, newspapers aren't subject to the same impartiality rules as broadcasters.
But having a political perspective isn't automatically the same as breaching impartiality rules.
And if you're concerned about ideological bias in journalism, shouldn't you be equally curious about it wherever it occurs?

Interesting row developing between GB News and Ofcom.
GB News is accusing the media regulator of suppressing its own research showing that the channel's viewers rate it more highly for trustworthiness than BBC viewers rate the BBC.
Ofcom says the omission was due to methodological changes, while delayed publication of the underlying data was an administrative error.
But here's the interesting bit.
The Government is considering proposals to give prominence to supposedly 'trusted' news providers on social media.
If Ofcom is going to help shape that debate, surely transparency and consistency in how it presents its own research are essential.

GB News has launched an attack on Ofcom amid a deepening row over data showing how trusted the channel is by its viewers.

Thank you, Beth, single handedly doing more to bring down your broken “trans” ideology than I could ever imagine, across two continents.
Oh what a surprise ...
Dr Beth Upton - the male doctor at the centre of nurse Sandie Peggie’s tribunal case over using a female changing room at NHS Fife - isn't exactly keeping a low profile after his move to Australia.
The Scottish Mail on Sunday reports that Upton - now known as Lis - reportedly became involved in an incident at Port Macquarie Base Hospital ...
After a female patient declined treatment from him and requested a female doctor.

Bills don't get worse in daylight, they get worse when nobody's watching.
So we're watching.
The Health Bill goes to Lords Committee from 28 October. MPs voted down single-sex wards 106 to 302. The peers are next.
We're also tracking the Draft Conversion Practices Bill and the school misogyny plan, so you don't have to.
